According to the the latest blog, CP still had a few nice little touches up their sleeves for this year. I won’t spoil any so check the link out for yourself. I’m now even more excited to see what sorts of things they have in store for the 150th.

The new banners for the sign across from the Thirsty Pony were installed today. Not surprisingly, featuring Forbidden Frontier. Here’s a photo.

I’m surprised they didn’t run with Steel Vengeance for another year on the entrance sign... Seems like a big investment like that would be a big draw for more than one year.
ROUNDABOUND.
I think it always makes sense to promote the fresh new thing, whatever it may be. But also, they promoted Steel Vengeance last year, and attendance went down. So.... ;)

I'm excited about the little touches on Magnum, but also looking forward to the little touches coming to my first coaster experience...Mine Ride. :)
Anyone have Garner Holt's phone number?

It's the little things that make me smile. Kudos to CP for bringing back some nostalgia while celebrating the past!
It really is the small details and themes that make a park stand out. Anyone can have a good coaster but coasters like mystic timbers or maverick with all their special effects and fun queues make it more memorable. Plus it’s always nice to see everything working and not just sitting there unused. (How sad I am when the fire isn’t turned on in boneville)
First ride; Magnum 1994
Any ideas what the Mine Ride characters are? I’m assuming re-used figures from Paddlewheel Excursions. Elk-ton John anyone?
shenanigans.
The new effects weren't yet up in the Magnum tunnel, but they have a new fantastic 80’s soundtrack in the station as well as a pre-recorded spiel for downtime. Also noticed updated historical signage in the queue.
I was hoping to see the new special effects on the Magnum tunnel today but the historical signage was fun to read. Lots of other great touches around the park. Really like the attention to detail that the park has made the last couple of seasons. It's nice to see what Planning and Design can do when given a budget to work with.

I agree. Also what is nice is the fact that they’re paying more attention to detail with the return of theming. Yes, CP theming never really stuck around for long, but that was during old management. This new management seems like they know what they’re doing
A little paint goes a long way, when the water park got updated it changed the scene drastically. Granted new building and slide additions were added. I just wish people in my neighborhood would add a little paint to their property 😁 Nice job and post 👌
With all of the new/old touches being put on the rides that have lost their “nostalgia”, perhaps we could see Blue Streak return next season with buzz bars and no seat dividers. Wishful thinking at this point.
Well, 2020 would be the park's 150th, so it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility. I've never seen the coaster with buzz bars and no seat dividers, but that would be cool. Perhaps if they did that to Blue Streak, then it could get the ACE coaster classic award back...

I spy updated lighting on Power Tower tonight. Looks like the logo up top got some love.
How did it look last time you saw it?

I’d bet we will see OTSRs on Blue Streak long before it goes back to buzz bars.
