Finally another Blog entry

It's somewhat funny how T & T are keeping a such a secret of the literal little or nothing that is coming to the Point this season.

If two months ago they simply said "Cedar Point will not get anything new for 2009" people lose interest and won't bother checking back. It's part of what they get paid to do.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I'm in sales and marketing and realize that they are indeed paid to keep the interest of their clients. With that being said, if the end result of the wait/buildup is a couple coats of paint a refurbished bathroom then there is what some will see as being a failure to deliver anything of perceived value. I understand that the economy is in the tank and "we" should not anticipate a new coaster every other year like we use to, but then again there should not be a heightened sense of anticipation to "what is new."

Sounds to me like the same endless bitching and moaning I've heard from people on this site every year since it started when they don't get what they want.

It was almost better when the park never said anything ever and didn't let people like us in to take photos of what they were building, right?

I actually miss the non-internet coverage. A lot of the
enthusiast crowd has developed a "This Park is not building anything
this year, and they owe us something new" mentality over the
years. What's the point (no pun intended!) anymore if the
intention is to look as far into the future for any new attractions
planned? It's okay to a certain extent, like at the end of the season
and wondering what's coming the following summer. There's many parks
out there that haven't added anything new in years.

I'm a therapist and figured that out. But I think you're stretching the definition of the word "client" by applying that label to an individual who anxiously awaits the next blog entry. Just ever so slightly.

With that being said, if the end result of the wait/buildup is a couple coats of paint a refurbished bathroom then there is what some will see as being a failure to deliver anything of perceived value.

And considering the horrendously small percentage of people who would actually come to that conclusion, that really doesn't matter. At all.

I understand that the economy is in the tank and "we" should not anticipate a new coaster every other year like we use to, but then again there should not be a heightened sense of anticipation to "what is new."

That heightened sense of of anticipation comes from within, not from Tony and Tyler.

Promoter of fog.

Well can agree it was more interesting before the computer age. As any visit to Cedar Point and/or another park was greeted to a surprise of what they did.

You totally missed my point as I anticipated you would. There is no bitching/moaning going on my part. I was just putting the CP hype machine in a proper perspective. If you are building a new coaster or introducing a new attraction go ahead and toot your horn as loud as you can all you want. All I am saying is don't make a big deal out of something that likely is of minimal value. If there are some legitimate new "attractions" then I will stand corrected and retract my remark.

Now to sit back and watch the sucking up process.

What sucking up process? Tony and Tyler haven't made a big deal out of anything on the blog since Maverick. Maybe you weren't bitching, but there was certainly some groan in that post ;)

Wait, so marketers should just sit back and do nothing just because they don't have a big rolly-coaster to promote? They'd really suck at their jobs if that's what they did.

Well, technically speaking, Maverick isn't a "big" roller coaster, especially not when compared to the likes of MF or TTD. :)

Unless you compare track length. Then Dragster is more of a "Kiddie" Coaster.

I just read the press release and we are finally getting what I have really wished for... A 1000 stall restroom facility. The worlds largest facilty, will debut on Millennium Island. Men, 200 urinals, and 200 toilets, and 100 Bidets. Womens, 400 toilets and 100 bidets. Beyond that the facility is so state of the art, it will literally be like the human race in Wall-E. Anything you want you got it. 500 foot coaster, it'll pop up out of no where. 78 loops Got it. A 7 year voyage through the universe with all the robotic pampering you want, no problem. Now in order to get to the facility you must swim across the lagoon, which will now be choked with Piranha instead of the carp. Makes for a great adventure thrill factor ;)

Yes, no restroom lines and service for anything you have ever wanted, if you can get there TaDa.

Just your usual come and go poster. One week I am here, then I disappear for a while.

That restroom would be nasty. Bring on those Piranhas!!!!!

was that even necessary? isn't that the point of a forum? to discuss and voice your opinion?

I know that times are tough for most! I mean if Cedar fair is working on regrouping and selling off some things, maybe it is so in the next few years they can expand on the parks that will bring in the most profit for them? Just a thought

The point of this forum is not to be a dumping ground for endless complaining about why Cedar Point doesn't build a new Dragster every year.

Thank goodness CP doesn't build a Dragster every year.

You know the conversations going on over at the Disney Boards?

Will they ever build an E-Ticket attraction again at WDW? Of course, no one can agree on what an E-Ticket attraction is.
