final height

does anyone know within about 20 feet how high it is right now, because it looks like if you add about 40-50 feet more and you have the final height...
I'm guessing around 430-440 feet.

How high does anyone think it is so far?

Hasn't this been discussed many other times?
Right now the main Support Tower is around 350 feet, however the poles sticking up for the next level are around 400-410 feet.

I think you guys are over estimating a bit on the current height. Figuring that the catwalks are in the ballpark of 50' apart, those poles are only 375' right now. But at the angle it's going, there's no way this thing will be less than 425', even if the poles angle in even more.

Enjoy your ride on the Big Bad Bug

I'm not sure if any of you saw this post I made yesterday. I guess this would've been the thread to put it in.

"This past Wednesday, I was driving back home from Sandusky, crossing the Edison Bridge. It was exceptionally clear that day so I took a quick glance across the water. The quick glance became a long stare at the sheer height of this thing. From that distance (about 5 miles out, I could be off by a mile) the top of what track was installed at that time was at about the height of the first MF hill. I've been watching everything I can, as often as I can about this thing since I read the "Building for the future" signs. I didn't think it was going to be something of this magnetude, though. At this point, I'm pretty pumped about it. I suppose that is the desired effect of the secrecy. I hope it doesn't end up like WT did for me. I was soooo ready to ride it that by the time I did it was about half what I'd expected. Kinda like the prom queen. You covet that hottie for 3 1/2 years. And when you finally get there, it's not as big of a thrill you'd hoped for. I'm starting to wonder if all the hype about new rides is just that. Although, I have to say, I don't think anything will prepare me for this."

It's gonna be BIG!!

I can't Wait!!!!!
I know, I can't wait either.

When I visited the park on Oct 13, the tower was 3 levels high and was probably between 180-200 ft tall. Now the tower, twice as tall, has to be between 360 and 400ft tall!!! With the extra supports sticking out at the top it is probably 420-460 ft. So this things at least 420ft tall, and, i'm guessing, when finished it will be at least 460ft or so. Ummm.....Wow!

I might be wrong but I'm hoping I'm right. Either way it's obviously gonna be a new world record.

Figuring that the supports will in fact come to a point since they are all angled now, here is a rough interpretation of the final height....

whoa there! i think that's a bit too exaggerated... IMO there won't be too much straight track after the twist, think about it...if you go up, you've gotta come back down, and if you're in the last seat, you're going to have a pretty intense drop 'n' twist that might be a little too much.

Yeah that looks a little too high. I wish it would be that high tho. But Got One? is right. There probably won't be too much straight track after the twists. The twists would need to be higher so that you go through them slower. There would be a bit too many lateral G's if you went through it too fast.

Don't think it's going to be as tall as that, that's almost half way to the moon!

Wicked Twister is a great ride! Just because it looks simple soesn't mean it sucks! I wouldn't mind having it in my back yard!

Although not a bad picture, I think it is a little exaggerated. If I had to guess, I'd say the tower is now about 385 feet tall. If you saw the picture of the crane fully extended vertically (there is a link in another topic) I'd guess it was between 450-475 feet tall.

haha that is one messed up picture. What if they are actually going for a nice and even 500 feet? that would be awesome. But many months back before they even started construction, i heard 420-430 feet, and i think it will probably stay around that. as for the arching of the tower, im not sure where it is going to lead.
I was in Marblehead this morning, looking across the lake it seemed as though it might be just a little higher than the Power Tower.
Wow that's a cool pic Florida! How sweet would that be? I think that 500' is a nice round number!;)
Someone take pics of the ride from Marblehead, that would be great!
