I was there yesterday and they filmed my dad and I getting off Power Tower. They just fallowed and my dad i with the camera and I started dancing.
I can see why having the crew not plant anything on you and your dad this year would be reason for dancing. It must suck having crops grown on your back every year.

Jeff. Please, I'm sure we all know filming is "dead". Maybe thats why some people still find they get better results with film in certain situations (namely, me) Filming may be dead to you, but its not to a lot of people.
The only people hanging on to film are people in Hollywood that can't let go. It's obsolete. Ask Kodak and all of the people they've laid-off. Try to find a sports photographer at any major pro event with a film camera. With true 1080/24p coming to a sub-$10,000 video camera in November, film is deader than dead.
Film is dead. Long live film.

Because it's not filming, it's taping. Jeff is right. Everyone in the movie/tv industry would kill you. It's basically like someone calling Magnum The Magnum Force, or something else irratable like that lol.

Except, except, so far, when it comes to motion pictures - TV or the cinema - nothing that has come out that isn't film simply does not look as good. Maybe, with the ubitquity of video, fewer people notice or care, but even in the hands of the most talented people, video lacks the richness and depth of film. That may change, but there's still a ways to go, at least as far as I'm concerned. Besides, as everyone knows -
Print is dead.

You know, if I could I would change the title of this thread so that everyone can quit going though box after box of kleenex whining about a verb, I would.
But I cannot. Luckily we all have imaginations so we can pretend this is really titled "I want a bottle, change my diaper!"
Anywho.... Does anyone know what the final product will be? Is it about the rides, park in general or how it's run?
Also who is Rich Rodriguez?

The German TV show will air at the end of the month....in Germany.
I believe the National Geographic one was so they could have backup footage and test their new equipment. Someone back me up on that one.
Rich Rodriguez is one of the coolest people I've ever met. He's got the world record for longest time spent on a roller coaster (104). He's been marathoning since 1977. He didn't ride Millennium Force with me, Tony, and Andrew because they were doing a different section on him, but he told us that it was because his stomach couldn't handle it! He really had us there for a second, it was really funny.

That's not true at all. Have you seen Once Upon A Time In Mexico? You can't tell that was shot digitally. Robert Rodriguez (the director, also did Desperado, Spy Kids, and the visually stunning Sin City) has a great special feature on the Mexico DVD where he talks about digital. Some people complain it has too much detail, and it's crazy that there are filters out there to actually make digital look worse so that it looks more like film.
The real irony is that editing has been digital for more than a decade, but we're just now getting to digital acquisition and distribution.

I agree with you about Rich Rodriguez. I got to to ride with him on a couple of laps on Expedition GeForce. He also said he was a Magnum fan!
That's great! I had actually asked him what the general reaction was about people riding next to him, and if people had requested to be next to him. What all did you to get to talk about?

Cool! I've always thought they needed an updated show of Cedar Point on TV.
Have you seen the movie Collateral (Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx)? That's shot in digital and it's one of the most visually stunning movie's I've seen.
By the way, film may be dead. But so is tape. :P
Yeah, I forgot about Collateral, which had additional challenges because the whole thing is shot at night.

I agree that both Collateral (which actually made L.A. look good) and OUATI Mexico looked great - but I knew from the start they were digital - not that it mattered to me (and Sin City was gorgeous, albeit in a very stylized way). I actually commented after seeing Collateral that it was the most "film-like" movie I'd seen on video (that, to me, was the best thing about it) - but that's still damning with faint praise. I am not trashing the technology, and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the majority of releases are not shot on film, but for now I do see a difference ...

The german crew sat behind us going through Boneville. I would pass on viewing THAT tape. They behaved like idiots, giggling and shrieking the whole time. Worst train ride ever.
The German crew were a great bunch of guys to talk to and work with! I am very interested in seeing the show, if the park gets a copy for us to view!

Don't forget Sin City <---digital owns
Best movie of 2005!

Tony, they said they were going to said 2 copies to Robin, right? I'll just try to get a copy of it.
