Favotire Part on the Magnum XL 200?

I've searched the forums for a while, and I didn't see this topic posted yet. In past forums, Members get quite angry if you re-create a thread that has already been made before. Anyways, back to the topic I was discussing...Favorite part of the Magnum XL 200? I have 3 and they are the 3 reasons the ride is my favorite but they are also unique.

#1 would be the first drop and the tears you get in your eyes. I love that. #2 is the rattling of the tunnel when you get sucked into it at such high speeds from the 2nd hill. And #3 is if oyur sitting in the left seat on the back when you go through the pretzel turn how it fells as if you are going to fall off.

Can't complain about the ride much other than the lack of speed through the pretzel. Whats your favorite?

Who the heck wants more speed back there? Not me!

#1. The "very long lasting", antisipating lift and first drop.

#2. The amazing view of Lake Erie at the top of the second hill.

#3. The airtime of the ride on the bunny hills. (I always scream a humming, low pitched sound "AHHHHHHHHHHH" and feel the vibration in my vocal cords) Try it!

Umm... CPGuru, you took all three of mine. But during ERT coaster events, I love just being able to sit on the train and not get out for an hour or 1.5 hours. That's the best.

Has any1 ever had a trimless ride on the bunny hill part?

From the time the ride ops say "clear", until the train comes out of the third tunnel"

Dan

Man - I don't know where to start. I love the view from the first hill, the view from the second hill, the sustained air of the third hill, the sound (or lack thereof) of no trims, , hanging out of the train through the pretzle, the jerk to the side on the "Soak City Curve," the way the air on each bunny hop gets stronger and stronger, etc.

I also love watching the ride since you nearly always have a train on the lift and on the course.

And real spiels really help keep the platform alive especially during the evening hours.

The final bunny hills are great.

I think my favorite part of Maggie is the third hill, like Matt said, the sustained air is just incredible. I actually named it "Hallelujah Hill" because during one ride I just yelled "hallelujah" when we hit that hill... I guess it was that good...

Although I don't see what makes Magnum so great, I do like the pretzal turn the most. There's nothing about the ride that totally sticks out as being over-the-top awesome. Maybe it's because I wasn't on it before MF and TTD totally changed the way people look at the ride, but it's still a great ride though.

The airtime usually hurts my legs at one point or another. Blue Streak's airtime always strikes me as the best. *** Edited 5/10/2006 4:54:27 AM UTC by Gomez***

Trimless ride + night ride + return bunny hills = the greatest non-drug-induced experience on Earth. Although, adrenaline's "a hellavu drug..." :)

Wow Gomez you're crazy. lol. I love this coaster so much. Everyone who goes to CP with me knows that when we go on the Magnum, we are atleast going twice in a row. It's one of those coasters that you smile and scream happily the whole way through, and can't wait to get off of it to go on it again.

I'd have to say that my very favorite party of the Magnum is the view of lake Erie from the second hill. Im deathly afraid of heights, so on most coasters that first drop is way too big for me. So i close my eyes. (I know, I'm a chicken). But that second hill on the Magnum is so wonderful. You are up there for just enough time to see the lake, and then you are down. And it's not too big of a hill where I close my eyes. hehe. Yep, that has got to be the best part.

Wow. I can't call it the fanboy of one ride knocking the fanboy of one ride, but you could have come up with a better answer than that Gomez.

CP Bound got it right. *** Edited 5/10/2006 10:00:01 AM UTC by Dan***

Dan

I agree with that there should be more speed back on the pretzel.

The last public train last year had the trims turned off on our re-ride. It was so great and so mean in a good way...

I agree with you Dan. It is hard to pick a favorite part of the ride. Everything about it is great!

I will be honest, I have rode MF over 100 times, and I am starting to get to the point where its just fun... But I have rode Maggie over 200 times, and I still have a blast every time!

Well, Saturday a high point to anyone's ride had to be actually getting to unload at the station, instead of say, the braking block, or maybe the top of the lift hill!

The views

The slow climb to the top of the first hill, it lets you take in your surroundings.

Sitting in the last seat and just flying over the top of the first hill.

The air on the 3rd hill.

....actually....all of it!!! Magnum is my favorite ride.
