Favorite Picture location

Well, this topic is for Dan. What is everyone's favorite location to have your picture taken (coasters don't count). I think mine would either be in front of Raptor, or by the new tunnel going under MF at night, with it's lift in the background.

The beach on a hot summer day! ooh... I like those small outfits!
I don't like everyone's small outfits...some people wear WAY too little and just have way too much...I'll just leave that one alone though heh.

My favorite picture location is basically anywhere there's a coaster. I like to take pictures of coasters, and sometimes people standing in front of them but I really have to like the people.

My favorite pictures are ones of my animals at the petting farm, of course.

I think one of the best photo locations is that little deck overlooking Thunder Canyon. You can get great closeups of the ride and the unfortunates aboard!

I really don't have a favorite spot. There are so many great spots to take pictures. I just wish I had the time to scan my photo albums. I have 6 full books of photos but no time to scan them. On my site I have a timeline set up of when I will post new pics so go check it out. Then again for reasons that only God knows I would say that three of the albums would not be allowed to be showed on the net.

Free? Free except the insane cost of ink carts and decent paper. Free indeed!

Digital cameras are getting there, but they still can't capture the image that 35mm film can. I whored myself out to digital with a Nikon 990 (one of the best on the market, at present), and was only partially satisfied. The reason is that I miss my big lens, the control and the contrast that digital cameras just can't reach.

You can see some of said digital photos from the IAAPA show floor at:

A good SLR and a negative scanner (if you need to digitize) are still better for image quality.

What would be the best sort of simple point-and-click camera (with a little bit of zoom) for capturing coasters? I know little to nothing about photography, but I'd love to be able to get some nice pictures. Those little disposable cameras don't work well at all for me. Brand name, if you know it, please, and what else should I look for? (Statistics or numbers or something) Thanks!

Under the MF turn around, or in the MF queue.
I would have to say on top of Mean Streaks hill looking at the parking lot. You see the whole park it is a great site.

Going down the first hill of MF (not that I have ever done this-just seems like it would be cool)
From the top of Raptors lift hill (yes I have been there-done this-but walked up there-not rode)
(BTW-244 steps from bottom to top!)
On the beach

By the main entrance

Also got the most awesome pic of my kid standing in front of the lagoon by the Power Tower shop just when ID was passing.

Going down the first drop of MF, just over the top. used a cheap disposable camera(panoramic), and they turned out pretty well. Getting up the nerve to do it took awhile, though! MF laps- 75
This thread kind of reminds me of an incident shortly after Snake River Falls opened.

Mom has always been kind of a picture buff, and she wanted to get a great shot of some of our family on the Falls.

She was looking for the best vantage point, when I (sinisterly) suggested that she go right up onto the bridge and get a shot of the boat coming straight down the hill at the movie camera.

Since our family's boat was next, she ran right up there to get a shot.

Today, it's still one of my favorite movie shots ever. The boat coming down the hill, a wall of water rising, and a quick 180 degree panic turn to a shot of the bridge.

Still makes me smile thinking about it.

What do you know? The person who donated that pic has my name....hmmm..I am sure that pic was taken around July 12th before she was an official CP employee.....

My favorite pic spot is out on the beach behind the magnum on the huge rocks out there. Very scenic and very cute pics!! Check out my info to see it! *** This post was edited by cplove on 12/2/2000. ***
