Favorite Part of Themeing

Gomez's avatar
All the themeing CP put into Dragster what's your favorite thing? Here's some of the objects I can think of: grandstand; raceway fences; christmas tree; christmas tree on the tower; engine riving sound; station design; speedometer; themeing that was on the back of each train; etc.

I think everything was great. If I had to pick a favorite I would have to say that the grandstands with the concession stand underneath it and the christmas tree lights on the tower.

Again, everything is awsome! If I have to chose, the trains themeing is what makes the ride. After all, it is called Top Thrill Dragster. ;)

If you see or here anything about the themeing coming back on the trains again, please post. :):):):):)

I loved the trains' spoilers, engine, and tires. I really wish they'd find some sort of fiberglass tires (or something other than the rubber ones) so that they can put the theming back on. I love Dragster, but I really miss the trains' sharp look.

Awww, bad day? Take a different perspective on things. Try upside down, a barrel roll, a cobra roll or a corkscrew. Life can't be all that bad when your feet are over your head!

I thought the engine, spoiler, and tires were the best.

Off topic a little,

Now, the trains could hold 18 passengers during the second half of the season without the themeing. During this time, Intamin's web-site, under the news colum said TTD could hold 18 passengers also. The point I have is that as of 11/25, Intamin's site has had TTD as a 16 passenger coaster again. Maybe this is a good sign for the themeing coming back next year along with the testing the other night 11/25 also!;)

I hope the themeing does come back. After they took the themeing off it always looked liked something was missing. Putting the themeing back may lower capacity down a little bit but the ride will look great. All I can do is cross my fingers. :)

Exactly Gomez, who else has noticed this change?

For one thing, that is not intamin's site as their site is www.intaminworldwide.com. Also, they say Dragster opened May 1, when we all know it really opened May 4.

May 1st was Media Day however.

that is actually part of Intamin's website, hence the Intamin navigation bar at the top. duh.

They often have a link to other news sources, so chances are, I'd say its accurate. So if there was a change, then yes, maybe themeing is coming back.

I dont see how them testing it the other night would make you believe that theming is coming back. When you could see the train in the station there still was all the seats on the back end and that was it.

They're going by the change in info. on Inatamin's site. I think there could be a possibility of the theming coming back, as it would be odd to just arbitrarily change the number of passengers per train from what it actually is...

yes, and in response to fat chris's post, its only the beginning of December, I highly doubt that if in fact themeing were coming back, that they would throw it on there right away, seeing as how they have to refurbish many of TTD's trains anyhow...

If I remember correctly, it seemed that there was enough room to replace the tires and big tail thing that holds them without taking out the extra two seats that they installed half way through 2003.

My guess is that they aren't going to take out seats that are already there and functioning perfectly, and replace the tires and big tail without ever worrying about that engine.

Did anyone notice Intamin's site say TTD goes 124mph. Maybe they're boasting up the speed of the launch to ensure it goes over.

Again since this is all speculation...

Perhaps they are removing the 2 seats to help with the rollbacks. I know this has been discussed before, but since they were only half loading the trains at times duruing the season, maybe they have deteremined that the lower capacity may be better overall. Just a thought...

Life is too short...go ride a coaster!!

(Side note -- the English major in me just has to demand that I point out that the word "theming" doesn't have two e's in it).

My favorite part of the theming was the "smoke" (I believe it was dry ice) that was billowing out from under the trains on media day. That was just too awesome.

I would have to say that my favorite part of the theming was the peel-out launch sound. If you were at the park enough, and your ears were tuned to the sound, you could practically hear it launch from anywhere throughout the park.

I loved when I was leaving the park after close and could hear that as well as "Arms down, Head back, etc.." in the soak city parking lot. It was a great sound to leave the park with.
