Hey now, I say the turnpike girl was way hotter than the schwabinchen girl. Best sign Magnum hands down. One of my personal favs the Matterhorn goat.
I can't believe you are debating the relative attractiveness of wooden sign cartoon characters... ;)

I seem to best remember the Demon Drop sign for some reason. I don't know why since I haven't been on that ride all that many times.
Blue Streak and Mean Streak sign modeled after Jack Falfas, now at KBF. I hope HE comes back to CP some day, too.I guess the Saint Bernards weren't part of the Avalanche Run, as shown in Historic pictures. I remember the Saint Bernards at the Sky Ride terminals.

Losing Fascination was bad enough, but the character signs too! This year is off to a bumpy start.
I like(d) the Magnum space man.

Jack Falfas is the correct answer.
Looks like I may stand corrected:

We bought a lifetime supply of pudding? How wasted were we last night?!
*Dude, Where's my car?*
does anyone who works at the point now know what happened to those signs? because i miss them. magnum has to be my favorite. and i definately don't like the new ones. we should start something to bring the old ones back. maybe the park just wanted to look more professional or something.
As far as I know, they were ALL taken to the landfill. some of them were so rotten they weren't worth saving.
Now see your knowledge is shown to be flawed here.. The Saint Bernard one is still at TGI Fridays (or at least was there Monday night).

I don't know about the landfill, CP has a propensity to save a lot of interesting type stuff. A couple years back, they found a bunch of carousel poles that belonged to the long-ago-relocated Frontier Carousel (what year was it relocated?). So my guess would be that the signs are in storage somewhere -- some may have been gotten rid of owing to their condition, but I'd bet that the rest are around somewhere.

Think the FT Carousel bit the dust at CP over the 94-95 winter. I'm still bummed about losing it :-( But that military horse creeps me out

*-CP Irvine-* I know who's fault it is!
*The FewER, The Proud, The Po!nter Girls*
Man - I really hope they didn't 86 the entire lot of these signs. Seems to me they could find two or three worth salvaging and put them in the town hall museum.
They would make an interesting conversation piece 20 or 30 years from now.
Red Garter Bob, I guess your the one who dosn't know anything. That Character sign has been at TGIF for a couple of years now, They used it to measure kids for the buffet they had. Kids under the hight were cheaper.
Technically the Frontier Carousel didn't bite the dust, it was just moved.
BTW, I know for a fact that those signs are still on point and they ARE safe and sound!
