Do you think anybody on earth buys Fast Lane instead of Plus?? Its like buying movie channels on cable without HBO or Showtime
As a frequent visitor to the park, it's easy for me to skip a couple of rides in favor of saving a little money. If I should be there on a busy day with a first-timer, or someone from far away, then Plus is the obvious choice.
I remember a day last season where we got FastLane and just made it our business to get the Plus rides out of the way early, taking advantage of early entry, then left the rest of the rides to regular FastLane.
Yeah, not sure exactly what they were thinking. Perhaps forcing us to mingle with the regulars? Old way was much better but this way is still fine. 10min wait instead of 2, as opposed to the typical 30 to 90 minute regular wait. I do however think that the plus change for maverick makes up for it.
It only did that the first year, after that year it started merging at bottom of stairs up ramp. A good 7-10 min Nerf to the starting year, but acceptable due to changes on other rides.
First year maverick went up stairs next to elevator and attendant appeared to have trouble with running two lines. So next year it was re routed to the front left side. Was a good change, and now that its plus even better.
I'm guessing with MF, it's simple ride logistics. With only a few exceptions, FL ride merge points dump you immediately into the station, right near the existing station host. For MF, the station host is closer to the East side of the station, meaning they host had to walk over to the West side (where FL used to enter) to let them in. It wasn't very practical to do, nor would it be practical to hire another worker, nor reconstruct the station. So, without heavy reconstruction, the closest place to have a merge point is just before the ramp, which is where it is.
I would think the logical place to put the merge point would be at the gate coming from the train-disembark station (the gate they open for parent-swap, or when there's no line and you can marathon MF). This would take some reconfiguring of the exit ramp though, which again, would take some $ to do.
It's not horrible as it is, but it's certainly not as good as it is with Raptor, Maverick, Gemini, Corkscrew, or used to be with MF, etc.
