Fast Lane vs Fast Lane Plus

Do you think anybody on earth buys Fast Lane instead of Plus?? Its like buying movie channels on cable without HBO or Showtime

Considering we're not big fans of TTD, and the only other "Plus" ride is Maverick, regular FL is definitely on our radar.

Then again, we don't even have cable anymore... ;)

FL is about $20 more a person (I think), so if you don't like TTD or Maverick, it's clearly not worth it to go for plus.

That said, on opening Saturday, every time we went to ride Maverick throughout the day, it was a walk-on directly into the station with a 1-1.5 hour wait in the normal line.

I'll definitely pay the extra just to ride maverick. If I didn't ride maverick I definitely wouldn't.

It's all a matter of preference. There are those who like the additional two rides, and those who can pass / can wait on those two rides. Both TTD and Maverick have a height requirement of 52 inches, so the fast lane plus would not work for those who are 48 - 51.99 inches tall.

As a frequent visitor to the park, it's easy for me to skip a couple of rides in favor of saving a little money. If I should be there on a busy day with a first-timer, or someone from far away, then Plus is the obvious choice.

I remember a day last season where we got FastLane and just made it our business to get the Plus rides out of the way early, taking advantage of early entry, then left the rest of the rides to regular FastLane.

They really messed up the fast lane for MF last year. Instead of the separate entrance they had you merging with the regular line at bottom of ramp. Even if no FL people were there it was still a 15-20 minute wait. Is the Fast Lane the same this year for MF?

It's the same, agreed that they messed that up. The original Fast Lane entrance was much, much better.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Right. No disapproving eyes, and no need to manage a polite smile. And far less of a wait. :-)

Yeah, not sure exactly what they were thinking. Perhaps forcing us to mingle with the regulars? Old way was much better but this way is still fine. 10min wait instead of 2, as opposed to the typical 30 to 90 minute regular wait. I do however think that the plus change for maverick makes up for it.

I thought Fast Lane at MF entered the station from the opposite side where front row is. Goes to show I have yet to purchase a Fast Lane :)

It only did that the first year, after that year it started merging at bottom of stairs up ramp. A good 7-10 min Nerf to the starting year, but acceptable due to changes on other rides.

First year maverick went up stairs next to elevator and attendant appeared to have trouble with running two lines. So next year it was re routed to the front left side. Was a good change, and now that its plus even better.

^ That would be the same reason why they moved MF FL line. It also probably didn't help that people were struggling to find the FL entrance when it was in the other location.

I'm guessing with MF, it's simple ride logistics. With only a few exceptions, FL ride merge points dump you immediately into the station, right near the existing station host. For MF, the station host is closer to the East side of the station, meaning they host had to walk over to the West side (where FL used to enter) to let them in. It wasn't very practical to do, nor would it be practical to hire another worker, nor reconstruct the station. So, without heavy reconstruction, the closest place to have a merge point is just before the ramp, which is where it is.

I would think the logical place to put the merge point would be at the gate coming from the train-disembark station (the gate they open for parent-swap, or when there's no line and you can marathon MF). This would take some reconfiguring of the exit ramp though, which again, would take some $ to do.

It's not horrible as it is, but it's certainly not as good as it is with Raptor, Maverick, Gemini, Corkscrew, or used to be with MF, etc.
