Extreme Rides 2003

*sighs* I watched about the first 3 minutes, then my cable decided to go out, along with my cable modem. So i was unable to watch it but will catch it again at midnight *sighs and uses comcast with bad language* But I did see alot of dragster clips in the 3 minutes.

The way I put it Six Flags needs more parks to keep up with the one and only Cedar Point :)

A LOT of Dragster was shown. In the last 15 minutes, anyway. It was the only part of the show that I saw.

Anyone else notice they showed a few clips of it mirrored? (meaning it launched up left side and came down right)

I missed the show but I'll watch it at midnight...i thought it would be on at noon tomorrow but I guess its on at midnight.

Alot off topic....tonights VMA's are sure going to go down in history.....all I can say is wow about that first performance. Christina, Britney, and Madonna-wow!

Would it be wrong to put a few pics up from this program?

They also showed how the hydrulic (sp?) launching system worked too. I like how they showed what it looked like from the top catwalk. This was the best Extreme Rides I saw.

B&M Flyers look really cool, does anybody think one could be put into CP sometime?

CP Coaster Guide Ride Count
TTD: 1; WT: 9; MF: 4; Mantis: 3; Raptor: 6; Mean Streak: 5; Magnum: 5

After seeing flyers on the program, I really hope CP could install one in the future. But lets not turn this topic onto a futures CP plans topic :)

Extreme Rides 2003 was a really good show I thought. It was a ton better than their other shows on rollercoasters. The other ones didn't really show that great of rides. This one had some really cool rides in it and it was cool how they had POV footage for every ride.
I have a question for the camera-video gurus - I kept seeing a repeating shot of Dragster during the respective segment, where the camera is on the nose, pointed towards the passengers. The train is moving down the 270* spiral, but instead of the shot moving with the train, the train rotates around the shot. (Hopefully you can follow with what I'm saying...)

How did they do that exactly? Short of computer editing and manipulation, I can't think of how...

I saw it too it looked like the people in the train were computer generated poeple so i think it was fake but i cant tell.

I seen that too i was going to ask that same thing!
For those who don't know and want to- Delerium, Xcellerator, Thrill Shot, Superman: Ultimate Flight, Swat, and Dragster each had segments on the show. They also showed small segments on other rides around the U.S.

The number 1 thing needed to ride Dragster is... Patience!
i loved the high quality pov video of ttd on tv. it really brought back the expirience to me. did anyone else notice on one of the povs the train slowly stopped on the top, appeared to the beginning of a rollback, but then they cut away? i was so excited since i thought i might see a rollback on a pov video but i didnt

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

since this srting is about the show, i just wanted to mention how scary i think that new seesaw coaster on the strataspher tower will be that might be one to make me scream out of shear terror.
yeah that would be real scary even if it wasnt 1000 feet or however much it is above las vegas. It makes it even more scarier because you would probly feel like the train is going to fall of the track.

does anyone know when will Extreme Rides 2003 air onthe discovery channel in canada?
It was a great show, and it was about time that they put out a new one.

That Dragster camera effect could have been done with a special rotating mount. The camera would be mounted on the rear and hooked up to a small moter. The moter would be computer controlled to keep the base, which could be virtual, pointed in a certain direction, say towards the back of the hill. Or it could have been computer generated.

By far the two rides that I would like to see at CP from the show would be a B&M Flyer, who wouldn't want one at their park, and a Huss Delerium.
