Expansion of Lighthouse Point

The news reported that Kinzel suggested that Lighthouse Point would be expanded in 2004. I wonder how they will go about that.

I guess they can extend the cottages down to Breakwater but to do a lot more would require the elimination or partial elimination of Circle A.

I'm sure they've already got it figured out.

Although I haven't personally stayed in Lighthouse Point yet, my sis in law has stayed there several times this past season and has already made reservations for next season. Anyone I've talked to has nothing but high marks for them, so I'm not surprised they are considering expanding.

And really why not? The cottages and even the "luxury" sites will capture more revenue than the old sites will.

INXS? Boy, you are showing your age!

Not that I think they shouldn't expand. I was just wondering how it will all play out.

Maybe they are going to take out Circle A for the expansion and leave Circle B for a while. Circle B is the logical place to expand Soak City if they have any intentions of doing so in the future. Of course, they could also run a coaster outside the park ala Maggie into the Circle B area.

If you asked me a decade ago if I thought Camper Village would still be there today, I'd have told you no. I think Lighthouse Point breathed life into the place.

Now THAT is a tough one. Having stayed at Camper Village the past 2 seasons and staying at Breakers Express a couple of times...and I know Breakers Express is not the same as staying on point (but it IS CF owned), I think I am excited about the prospect of Lighthouse Point being expanded.

Maybe then, I could get in!

While I know it will nver happene, smaller non camper site would be great for tents. I would be willing to probably spend 30 to 40 bucks a night for a tent spot on the point.

I can only dream though. Not enough profit in it.

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

The tent issue doesn't come down to money. It comes down to safety. Camper Village is pretty much the lowest point on property. When it rains, the place floods like you wouldn't believe.

Seriously, if you were in a tent you would be floating by morning.

Don't know if I agree with that. If flooding is an issue then using 4x4s and some gravel with sand on the top to make tent pads would solve that problem. I agree with Magnum Force that it is a profit issue. Being a tent camper too I would love to stay at the Point.
You don't have to believe me. There is plenty of "space" for tents. People in RV's all the time asked if they could set a tent up outside for the kids. If it was all about money, wouldn't the park say, "sure, that will be $10 to set up the tent"?

It isn't the money.

I heard it will be where the circle between Lighthouse Point and Sandcastle.
