Ever went to CP with a boring riding buddy?

Just wanted to hear some funny stories of people and their experiences of going to Cedar Point with someone who was so boring that they almost made your whole day spoiled at the best place on earth?I have had that experience and it sucks!It really kills your mood.Tell me your experiences!!!

Ahhh...yes...I remember one now that seemed to like beeing in my "personal bubble" way tooooo much. He would follow me everywhere. Im like "OK Im going to the bathroom now" and he'd just follow me to the door and, a good word for this is, "attack" me when I came out. Please step away from the Scott... And on the bathroom subject, my parents enjoy stopping at the bathroom literally every half hour. I wish I were lying...in any way at all....but Im not. Man that is annoying! And they wonder why I always seem to want to wander off with my friends (that dont invade the bubble)...

oh i knwhat you mean,I hate that when someone just follows me and doesnt say nothing.Its like this person is your shadow and it is so annoying like you said.When im at the point,I dont brake for nothing really,i go from ride to ride to ride.I only brake to eat or use the bathroom but that isnt often.

I had the complete opposite problem with my friend. He was always a few steps behind us. Every time we turned around he was gone. He would just stop for stupid reasons and we wouldn't notice.

Another time my X-girlfriend decided she wanted to go on the Ripcord. So, we made reservations for noon and went on a few rides. After we went on the Ripcord and she decided she wanted to leave. I wouldn't have been so steamed had I not paid for her ticket.

That's why sometimes I "strap the seat belt around me and my imaginary riding partner." (Heard that spiel a couple time already ;) )

I almost always go by myself.. #1.. I HATE having to do what other people want.. I'll meet up with GTTP members or Coasterbuzz members, or so-forth.. but generally.. I'm a spur of the moment person.. and like to walk alot.. So I tend not to go with people..

I haev however had some great times meeting people there.. but of course I can always walk away from groups like that....

MF 2001 - Tell ya when I hit triple digits....

I took a person who complained about the heat the whole damn day. I almost strangled him. Even if the heat is a problem, whining about it incessantly will do nothing but make it even more unbearable. On top of this, his complaining transcended EVERYTHING in the park. "This path is too hard on my feet" "This line (ten minutes) is too long" "Too many people work here" "Why isn't the ATM closer" Arrgghh. I almost committed the first homicide at Cedar Point. Thank God for the Millennium Force changing his mood from dour to pleasant.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!! The last one was too much. RCT needs a new add-on with REALLY annoying park guests (the witchy, crank, controlling mom; the loser boring friend who complains). I swear that guy sounded like an RCT game.

Went with a guy one time who ended up leaving early because he "didn't like that I was into the coasters so much." :-P

I went to Cedar Point with my farmer boy cousin last year. All he wanted to do was walk around Frontier Trail and ride the Mine Ride. Then go back to the hotel room for a few hours. Boring...

For the RCT add-on. How about this--the embarrassing mom? Whenever I take my mom to Cedar Point, she makes a note of coughing really loud and obnoxiously every time we pass someone who is smoking and then, in her loudest voice so everyone can hear, she will yell "don't these people know that smoking kills?" Not that I condone smoking at Cedar Point, but I have problems having everyone look at me in disbelief as if to say "you were spawned form that loud, vile creature?" I agree with Red Garter Rob, who I would like to meet when I start to work because of his noteriety in this discussion group, going alone is the best.

Half hour wait, "I don't want tooooo"

"Let's go BACK on Corkscrew" (for the eighth time)

"I want to go home" (at 2:30pm)

"I don't like roller coasters" (in the car ride there)

Awww... I feel so loved.. :)

I am always the person yelling at smokers like that :-) I can't stand it, I have had three relatives die from smoking crap, and it really is not a good thing to do. Sometimes, you think of Darwin and "Survival of the fittest" and that we're ridding crazy people from the planet (no offense to anyone who smokes on this board, just in general...)

Unfortunitely for me my current b/f isnt exactly Mr Excitement about CP, he "tolerates" it cause of me. I "ramble" on and on on lines (any of you GTTP'ers who have been on line with me know exactly what Im talking about) he just stares at me, cant relate to any of the CP stuff, and when we ride, I am CRAZY (again any GTTP'ers can vouch for this too) he just "rides".
Needless to say why anytime I hear "I dont think I can go to CP with you" from him, he will hear "ok...sigh...guess I will just go alone" ;)
Here's hoping he cant go to Coastermania...he'll NEVER keep up with me for that!!

My Hubby wants to eat and drink all day....the food provides him with an excuse not to ride certian rides ....(he just ate), without appearing to be the wimp he secretly wishes he wasn't and the drink....well...thats just self explainitory. Then he loves to complain that we have spent way too much money...(all the food he eats). I prefer to handle any park in a commando style....screw food,,sept for elephant ears and corn dogs..must have those. Eating once is enough for me. Oh and try lugging along two boys that have to pee every time you enter a queue!

I don't have this problem so much with CP. Since I live so close to the place, I have plenty of interesting friends to go with, many of whom also have season passes. However, when I want to travel to another park (like PKI, SFGAm, or even SFWoA) there is only one friend who is actually interested in checking out other parks. All my other friends are like, "Well, we have CP here and it is the best park on Earth, so why even go anywhere else?" Anyway, this one friend is a great guy and all, but he is absolutely boring to ride with. He doesn't put his hands up (doesn't see the point in it), never screams or does anything stupid on the ride, and refuses to eat junk food, making me feel guilty whenever I want a snack. Oh well, at least there's somebody to go with me. It's certainly better than staying home, and as much as I love CP, it is certainly better than not being able to travel to other parks. I guess I can't complain because he considers himself a MILD enthusiast and he's my only friend who does.
