Estimated wait for rides

I think Cedar Point shoud instal digital computerized estimated wait time systems. They could have a big sign above the entrance. It would be easy to figure out the times, down to the minute, I know it would be approximate, but better than what it is. All they would need to to know the number of people in line, "a counter they use as you eneter the line," and divide it by there usual estimated number of passengers per hour. Very simple and easy. That way you dont have to deal with a sign saying 1/4 hour and being 3/4, or 3/4 hour equaling 1/4 hour. What do you think?
If I had a nickel for each time someone walked by the sign that said 1/4 of an hour and said, "is it really only 25 minutes?," I'd be a very rich man. Probably would have made twice as much last summer! :)

Technology costs money. If the park ever figures out a cost effective way of doing it, I think you might see it.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

Better still, a BIG sign at the ride entrance to tell you how long the wait is, and a smaller sign to tell you what the waits are for other major attractions.

But then I've been advocating that since before they cooked up TTR last year...

Yesterday the sign at Raptor was set to 1/2 hour. The attendant at the entrance claimed that it was about a half-hour wait. And certain seasoned Cedar Point veterans actually believed him. I meanwhile opted to take a ride. It took me 0;03;ss;ff to get on board the ride, meaning the sign was off by a factor of ten.

I have also thought about CP placing a big sign in strategic locations in the park of the waits in all the rides, but then i feel it would take away the advantage one might get, when they seem to be the only one in line for magnum, while all the public is in line for raptor in the front. I think if they did this then all the rides would be relatively long. But i am all about the big signs in front of the lines that use technology and a little math to figure out the ride time.
