Estimated Capacity

Coasterdave,

First off, great job spieling the other night during ERT! Now I know why you are moving to Live E!

Second, mid day on Friday, while in line, I was timing your dispatches. I was amazed. You guys were great! It seemed like at times, there was less than a minute between dispatches.

If you could physically dispatch every minute, you could have over 1900 pph!

John McCain: The Ride

Being Mavericky since 2007!

Once the crew is conditioned, CP will have them shooting off at quicker intervals. I figure they will be up to speed after this week! Running slower now sure beats getting trains too close and hitting the brakes. Lose a quick half hour if that happens. Call maintenance, they finish cigarettes, then stroll on over.

Coaster Dave: Tell Kyle I said hello!

Honestly, it doesn't take that long to get conditioned to running a ride. Being a new ride, there are certain procedures that can probably be tweaked to help things a bit, but the actual mechanics of checking the restraints are butt simple and happen very quickly on GK. I didn't really notice a bottleneck with that part of it specifically.

Oh lord, Kyle is about to get a really big head...
(I'm joking, he's one of my best friends).

On Friday afternoon I timed 10 intervals and it was an average about 1:20. On Saturday for a portion of passholder ride time it was closer to 1:00.

That is flying!!

Friday through Thursday, the ride was cycling fairly quickly. For as much as people love to hate the bins, I think having only two people to a bin speeds things along.

I was one of the most vocal critics of the stated capacity numbers and said several times that it didn't seem possible to hit.

And indeed, in the beginning they were not very quick.

But after only a weeks time I have to say I was wrong. Now that they're opening the gates much sooner, I'm amazed at how quickly people exit the station and new riders get seated. This one time, I'm very happy to be wrong. That line has been moving really nicely.

I shot this photo on Monday. Note the train at the top of the lift and the one in the last dip. That's awesome. At best, they could have dispatched that train three or four seconds earlier. They're definitely hitting a stride.

That's cool.

Did you shoot that from Giant Wheel, and if so, how did you get permission? Just curious.

I was also there on Monday and they were moving very quickly, I was amazed with how fast they were dispatching. They were definitely moving faster than any other coaster. (At least while in other coaster lines watching)

Is it even moving quicker than maggie...Maggie hits interval like a boss and gets a beautiful capacity

Hmm....I suppose this can vary from hour to hour, day to day -- but last Thursday, we actually timed the launch time in between cars and it was one train every two minutes -- that's 32 x 30 -- that's 960 an hour -- a far cry from 1710...

Granted, that was one hour in the middle of the afternoon and maybe things run faster/slower with different employees....but still....

I'm very glad to hear that its going faster at different times of day...

How are the queue lines being handled when entering the station?

When I went last year, TTD and MF was one big free-for-all. It was hard to figure out where the lines ended for each row. Hopefully GateKeeper (and TTD/MF for that matter) are managed better than that, especially with the heavy crowds. I dont mind waiting outside the station a little longer knowing the actual train lines are quick and simple.

Copied this from my trip report memorial day

. I did however track some information and get some for all of you coaster nerds like me. Full interval information :-)!!! Station wait minimum from stop in station to dispatch was 55sec, max was 1:34. Jog time from ready brakes from a stack was 15 seconds if interval was not hit properly. Full time for train dispatch to station stop per train varies from 2:23 to 2:55. Also my friend on the ride said their best dor pph hour was 1,569. Theoretical is 1710...that's moving people!

It's not like Millennium and Dragster. It's usually a one train wait while you're in there. I just wish they would do this on Dragster and Millennium because the crowded stations are just confusing.

If it's just 1 or 2 people, absolutely! But im usually with a group of four, so trying to get on the same train becomes frustrating.
