I worked at CP last year, but one of the only days I came as a guest with my family, there was this really funny guy working at Maverick, and he just made my experience a lot more light-hearted near the end of our long wait.
Also...if you EVER EVER EVER feel like an employee at CP is doing a great job, PLEASE go to park operations (near the front of the park, over by the main arcades and skyride) and leave a compliment! Make sure to remember the employee's name too, it means the WORLD to hear that you're doing a good job, when almost every day you have to deal with people who act like you aren't. It also helps employees to get cornerstones :P

John Hildebrandt, GM. Can't think of a better guy to better embody the spirit of the park. Bill Spehn is also one of the best ops guys in the biz. For all of the trashing I do at the executive level, it's worth pointing out that the people who run the park do a pretty great job.

I agree with you. Hildebrandt really did his job. I'd see him out on the midways all the time making sure people like me did our job. He's also a really nice guy. Bill Spehn was very intimidating for me, but I could tell that he really cared about the park running at optimal capacity. I saw him on the midways a lot as well (and on occasion got lectured by him) though I must say that his lecture he gave me on drinking water while sweeping was rather silly, because I got yelled at for drinking instead of sweeping later on (even though that is what Bill Spehn told me to do)
I'd like to give a shout out to the games people; they always seemed pretty relentless in trying to get people over to their games. At least the games people in area 2. Especially the guessing game "Easiest game in the park to play, easiest game to win!" That still emanates in my mind from time to time.

I am sorry, but I have to bust a couple of bubbles here and say that the Raptor crew from last year was awesome. Their control of the ride, line jumpers, and the quick way they moved lines was incredible. They're going to be a tough act to follow. They are going to miss one crew member immensely, in my opinion. And no, I don't and never have, worked at CP. I just know a few great employees there.
TTD's crew seems pretty fun this year. I learned a lot of fun trivia! For example, "Did you know that the TTD and Iron Dragon tracks are exactly the same length?" Also, there's one guy in particular that seemed pretty energetic on Wicked Twister. I believe he called it the Curly Whirly. All the other ride ops laughed and said he's crazy.
I would agree with the statement about last year's Raptor crew. They seemed to have it pretty together and the same goes for the MF crew from last year.
