Elevator Lifts?

I just want to know is there any other coaster in the world that uses a elevator lift Now? Does Steel Dragon use one?
Nope, MF is the only coaster in the world to use an elevator lift. Steel Dragon in Japan uses two different chain lifts.

Actually, I remember reading somewhere that MF is not the only coaster with an elevator lift.  There are just a few different kinds of elevator lifts.  I guess I should leave this to the more knowledgable GTTPers...

Steuks!!

Expedition Ge Force in Germany uses the Intamin elevator lift.

Vekoma boomers and Scenic Railways also have elevator lifts one could argue.

2001 Magnum Laps-249
6/11/01 Gemini Laps- 100

The Vekoma launched boomerand inverteds that opened this year use a type of cable lift on those vertical towers I believe...

But if it's a launched coaster, why would it require a lift in the first place?

"Suspended in a single ski-lift style train, guests climb a 178-foot tower at a 90-degree angle using “cable-lift” technology. Déjà Vu pulls passengers up the tower faster and quieter than conventional chain lifts."

Millennium Force uses an Elevator lift. Deja Vu uses a cable lift. 2 different things, they are not the same.

What is the difference? And which is faster and cheaper?
How about a lift that actually is an elevator? Find one of those on Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster, a Caripro Batflyer, at Paramount's Kids Island.

i wonder if cp copyrighted the cable lift if not intiman did
Wouldn't be a copyright...it would be a patent if anything.  And yes, most likely Intamin has a patent on THAT sytle of elevator(cable) lift...but just like anything you come up with a little different variation.  Take the brakes coasters use.  Perfect example :)
that is what i ment a patent

What is the difference between a elevator and cable lift? And which is faster?
Once again, Millennium Force does NOT use a cable lift!

Hmmmmm, train rises up the lift.  When looking down, we see a sled with a cable attached to it.  As said cable is wound up on a big old spool, the train is pulled up the hill.  Sounds to me like the cable is lifting the train....so how is this not a cable lift system?  And I still have yet to see someone post the difference between the two.

Gotta love semantics sometimes.  Does it really matter what you call the thingee that gets it to the top?  All I tend to care at that point is I'm on it, and what a kick butt ride it is.

Does MF have anti-rollbacks?  I don't think so, at least I didn't hear nay when I went.  So what happens if the cable snaps like so many Vekoma Boomerangs have?  Ouch.

If Deja Vu uses a similar lift system to an Invertigo, what's the real difference between Vekoma's design and Intamin's design for MF?  Nothing, except that MF has an anti-rollback system.  They both have a mechanism that engages the train and hauls it up the lift and returns when the train disengages.  Brian is right.  This is just an argument of semantics.
