Electronic Lockers - Bring extra dollars if using cash

Make sure that you have extra dollars if you intend to use cash in the electronic lockers at CP. I had two dollars on me, and tried to use the locker. The first dollar was accepted, but the second dollar was worn out, and would not be accepted by the machine. I cancelled the transaction, and used my credit card, but I never got my first dollar back.

I wish CP would do what IOA/Universal does. Free locker rentals for the duration of the current line. If the line is estimated at 45mins, then 1hr locker rentals are free. Anything more you pay. Such a nice gesture for a park to do, is offer free lockers while you ride...

^I really liked that too. But there are a couple of reasons why it wouldn't work at Cedar Point in it's current position:
-They would have to make an electronic queue time system
-There would have to be a locker attendant at each locker
-If the money is in the locker, the rider is out of luck
-The system could be taken advantage of

Eliminating the bins on the rides however would greatly increase dispatch times and be a convenience.

Well I like the new locker system. Its a new way to pay for what you want. Before, it was $10 for any amount of time. Now, you pay by the hour. Great new system!

I didn't know the lockers were such reasonable prices now since me and my girlfriend hardly bring anything into the park with us besides our keys, passes, money, and one of our phones that she keeps in her clutch purse thing. For $1 an hour you can't beat that at all. Before, didn't you have to pay everytime you had to come back to the locker?

Doing #1 would eliminate the need for #2, as you could just tie the locker system into the electronic queue wait system. I'm quite certain that's how Universal's works.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

So wait, I'm confused. I'm remembering lockers being $1, maybe $2 last year. One time usage, but all day if you wanted. You got your little orange key and came back when you needed your stuff back.

And now it's $1 per hour, minimum of 2 hours, and you can access as much as you want! Also - I was a few minutes over the 2 hours time, and didn't get asked for more dosh!

The biggest complaint to these lockers is its not advertised in the park map that is handed out to you. Its $2 for 2 hours with a time multiplier of 2 hours up to 8 hours max for $16. I did not see locker for the day rental in the park.

Be prepared at Soak City if you need a locker---depending on the size you need, the prices are $12, ($16 or $18) & $21 for the day. The machines do not give change, so you must have the correct cash or use a credit card. My daughter was there last week and was quite surprised at the prices. I remember when it was $10 for a locker but $5 was your deposit that you got back when you returned your key.

I was at the waterpark last month and used the full day lockers. Are there any pay per hour lockers at Soak City? $12 was a bit much when staying at the park for 5 hours.

Are the Soak City lockers one time use? Or can one access them several times per day?

The ones near the main entrance are all day use.

The reason is that you get the key from the front shop. If you forget to turn in your key before it close, you don't get your deposit back.

^Unless I misread, t2fastspin was asking about the electronic lockers at the waterpark. Soak City has electronic lockers; I believe that the key lockers are still up, but are not for customer use.

I was at Soak City just last Saturday. The $12 to me did seem a little steep but you do have all day usage. Cedar Point is clearly cleaning house on those prices though. It would be nice if that lowered the prices to something more reasonable. Especially when it's only single use. I generally do not need the lockers but if the time ever arises again [It was an unseasonably warm day last fall and we didn't need the extra layers] It would be nice to know I won't be paying an arm and a leg to leave my items in the park.
