Early Rider Time Help

I am staying at Hotel Breakers, you know the deal. This is my first time to the park by the way.

What is the best way to use my time? I have two days.

I was thinking first day start off with Millennium Force and try to ride twice in a row and then move onto Maverick. After finished with Maverick head to the line for Top Thrill?

Day two, we start off with Maverick and then onto Millennium Force. Finish the early entry with Skyhawk?

This is my first time, any tips are welcomed and appreciated.

Start with closest rides.
aka Maverick

Maverick is a better wake up call than MF anyways.

But everybody goes to Maverick in the morning..MF isnt as crowded.

Last May we hit MF for early ride time and ended up getting 9 rides in the hour. I can't think of any way better to spend an hour

Your plan sounds fine, but leave out Skyhawk. The ride is
fun, but the cycle is so short, it really isn't worth
wasting some of your early entry time on it.

Thank you everyone for your replies so far. I like the idea of riding MF multiple times in a row.

You guys have been there, but on the map it seems Maverick is further away from the hotel than Millennium.

I will leave out the Skyhawk for sure.

I wonder why they don't have Top Thrill on there instead of Skyhawk or Iron Dragon.

top thrill isnt open for early entry. you can start waiting in line for it though so that you are the first rider of the day which is always fun for me. but then you dont get to hit all of the other rides like mf or mav.

Interesting, we do just the opposite. Different logic.

Yes, its cycle is short, which is exactly why we do get on it early.

Promoter of fog.

the wait for skyhawk is so short all day that i like to get the more crowded rides out of the way early so that i can enjoy the rest of the park later.

Crazy. Whenever we go the line for SkyHawk is about 45 minutes; and I just cant wait that long.

Keep this in mind; SkyHawk's line really doesnt fill until around 11 am.

I'm just a big fan of that big swing. My fav. flat in the park.

You go to Maverick first, if you are at the Magnum gate, it will be a <30 min wait (the only time all day it is) however if it isnt running when you get there, go to MF, also after riding Maverick once go ride MF. Around 9:50 go to TTD, you should get on that ride in under 15 min as well. Under ideal circumstances you can do 1 ride on Maverick, 2 on MF and then 1 on TTD in under a hour and a half. Thats not bad at all.

I would spend one day just riding Millennium Force for your hour of early entry. If you take the courtesy shuttle over to the Marina Gate, you will be able to get to Millennium the fastest. Be sure you are there at least 15 minutes before the 9am in order to get a spot that is somewhat close to the front of the line (You should probably get to the magnum gate by 8:30 if you want a spot close to the front there).

On the second day I would try to get in line at the Magnum gate really early (maybe around 8am) and then RUN straight to Maverick when they open the gate. If you are a decent runner, you should be able to be on Maverick in 10-15 minutes (leaving you ~45 minutes to do other rides) if Maverick is open right at 9am. Last year when I went, even at 9:50 the line for Millennium was under 15 minutes long, so I would try to make the most of Millennium's short lines during early entry. After the general public was let in, the line for Millennium Force was about 35 minutes. When I was there on Memorial day last year, I got to the Magnum gate at 8:45 and ran to Maverick and still had to wait 45 minutes (keep in mind that was right after Maverick's opening weekend), so try to get to the Magnum gate really early if you want to run to Maverick first thing one day. IMO, getting in line early basically lets you extend your time in the park because you are "waiting in line for Maverick" before the park actually opens. Also, keep your eyes (and ears) pealed for rides that are broken down. If you time it right, you can get on a big ride during the middle of the day with a ~20 minute wait if you are walking by right as the ride reopens. This happened to me with Millennium on my last trip. Also, if Iron Dragon has no line, it is a great way to check the length of the TTD line, and it is still a decent roller coaster.

Enjoy your trip!

When are you going to the park? If its weekdays in May noone will be in the park anyway.

cdr, if you were there Memorial Day weekend last year, it was Maverick's opening weekend. Most of the times I went, I got to the Magnum gate sometime around 8:40, walked there, and had less then a 30 min wait. I would then get one, sometimes two rides on MF and then about 10 mins before opening mosey on over to TTD and get on that as soon as that opened.

do they ever open the gates before 9am?

Yeah, coaster events (like coastermania) but you need to be part of a coaster club. For Joe Cool/Point Perks ERT, they will not open the gates until the National Anthem is played over the loud speakers.

Well there was one day last year when somebody (I think a Booster) royally screwed up and left the gate open or something. I was looking out our stand and saw a bunch of guest already in the park. I think it was a 10 AM Sunday during Halloweekends and I saw them around 8 A.M.
