I recently sent a message through the Cedar Point Contact link expressing my concern over whether early entry policies were being enforced.and did receive a quick reply:
I submitted some comments more than a week ago about our recent trip, and didn't receive any reply whatsoever. That's incredibly annoying.

Yesterday everyone was scanned in and allowed entry after the National Anthem.
Today at the Soak City entrance all guests were allowed past the turnstiles. We were kept behind portable blue gates until the National Anthem played. The gates were rolled away, there was no checking of your early entry.
I know this doesn't have to do with this topic, but do they always scan your season pass at the parking toll both? Last Friday they just looked at it at that was it.

It usually depends on how long the line of cars is. Sometimes they will even print me a receipt. I'm also guessing that it depends on the laziness of the particular employee.
They call me Sheehan.

Realistically, what percentage of people coming in that entrance are not staying at the resort, or not platinum passholders? I suspect few, if any.

I'm sure that covers the vast majority of people getting in the park in the morning. I do think it is a bit disappointing that they don't enforce their own policies, but honestly it has been that way as far back as the Joe Cool Club days.
The decades old trick of parking in the Soak City lot still is a winner I guess.

I guess I don't see how it's that difficult to patrol. When the guests enter at any gate, either they have a resort pass or PP or they they wait until 10 to enter. Why do they need to be in the park at all before 10 only to have someone stopping to ask for credentials when it can be easily checked at the gate?
I guess I can understand if they only are enforcing at the main gate. As Jeff said, that is where the majority of the public enters the park. The only reason I know about the resort gate is from working at the park and being a CP 'enthusiast' for so many years. Does anyone know if early entry is being enforced at the Marina or Beach entrances?

Thats exactly what you do. Most people that know that already have platinum passes I expect.
But I still wonder - if I'm a guest staying at the resorts and I have a regular season pass (not platinum)... I don't need to buy resort price tickets that include early entry on them since I already have a pass. So if I show up at the Magnum Gate with my regular pass I should be able to get in for early entry with that pass since (in theory) I stayed at the resorts the previous night. They can't verify that though. At least not in a way that makes logistical sense.
Just a small loophole.
