I think I'd rather sleep in a shoebox.

Didn't they tear down and rebuild the Dusk to Dawn not too long ago? It looked a lot worse then...

MY CRAZY LIFE
As far as Dusk to Dawn Motel (Vampire Motel as I like to call it), it depends on what your perspective is of hotels. I don't like to get fancy. For me a good room consists of: 4 walls, floor, ceiling, bed, shower, & heat/air. I have stayed at DTD several times and never had any problems. I agree there are a lot better places. But have stayed at worse!
So, sawlac, if you are a simple person just wanting a place to sleep cheap, don't listen to anyone else criticizing it and try for yourself. If you want a little more luxury, DTD will not suit you.

Try Bayshore Estates Campground just past the entrance of Cedar Point. $30 a night for RV w/full hook-up 4 peak season (Water, sewer, electric and cable TV). Even if you don't have an RV, they have tent camping, on the bay Approx $15-20. They have a shuttle bus ($5.00), extra-clean bathrooms and showers.
Other good choices would be the Sleep Inn just south of Route 2 on Milan Rd. I've also had good experiences with the Econo Lodge on Cleveland Rd. (but NOT the one on Milan), the Comfort Inn on Cleveland and the Budget Inn just East of Friday's at the Radisson belive it or not isn't too bad for the price. The Travelodge on Milan just north of Route 2 is also great if you're looking to save some cash. However, like Magnum C.M. says, they're all going to nail you for some pretty high rates during the peak season.
Most brand name hotels offer a toll free reservations line that can be used to survey the area and find the best price possibly. My advice is to haggle with the reservations agent...they're more than likely to work w/ you seeing as the average cost to the hotel for a one night stay averages out at around 15-20 bucks...don't let them take you for too much.
