Drones

Has Cedar Point or any other CF parks had a problem with drones, because at the bottom of the FAQ's on the website, there is a Drone Policy. https://www.cedarpoint.com/plan-a-visit/frequently-asked-questions

Not sure anyone here would be in a position to know. I'd suspect the company is being proactive, not reactive.

There were unauthorized parties flying them over Carowinds to observe Fury 325 construction. There have likely been other incidents as well.

^Just paint them yellow and black and let them blend in better.

remember: no matter where you go... there you are.

Would you want a drone crashing into you while riding a coaster going 120mph? Some people don't have proper training how to fly them and they could be dangerous in the wrong settings. Don't get me wrong I think they are really cool machines but not someone flying it with no experience!

I liked it better when they were called quad-copters and drones were the things that dropped bombs on people using remote pilots.

What's interesting is that regardless of UAV policy or laws, that still makes it difficult to do something about them. Today's high level consumer drones can be launched from the mainland and fly over to CP, and there's very little that can be done. I suppose you can get a shotgun out, or maybe have security drones around to chase your drone down to ID you (which brings up all sorts of fun scenarios when it comes to technology/defense escalation). I think we, as a society, are on the cusp of drones changing the world very quickly.

I'm also going to bet they're being proactive at this point, after the construction videos of Fury 325, as well as a few other parks this off season, see this YouTube channel, they're everywhere.

I think it is high time they tried to control those big, ugly, white colored flying things that are a danger to people on the ground and rides.

But enough about the Seagulls, I'm glad they'll deal with drone issue on paper at least.

Disney was able to get all of their properties into the FAA no fly zone after 9/11 like an airport. So many of the consumer drones won't even work as it's embedded into their software. The FAA is now all over the place trying to figure out some official policy.

I bet the sea gulls are smarter and less of a danger than some people flying drones.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Must not have worked that well because I see drones over Magic Kingdom all of the time.
