Just found Ride Hopper app on Droid. Nice layout and easy to use. Check it out. The more that use it, the better it works. Your opinions?

I'm not a Droid user, but I would assume this is similar to the "unofficial" CP iPhone app?
Most of the time I would think those apps aren't very trustworthy. See here for more details.

Park Hopper or Ride Hopper? I can;t find Park Hopper in the Market. I have had Ride Hopper for a little over a month and contrary to what Tony said about unofficial ride time apps. It's very accurate.
The developer was smart when he created the app in that it uses GPS. So if you're not in the park, you can't update wait times. So far not one user updated ride time has been off by more than 10 minutes.
Interesting. I'll have to try that out next visit.
Wait - what app are you talking about? Ride Hopper is apparently Disney-only, unless I'm missing something.
ADDED: I was missing something. :) It apparently has over 200 parks built in.

It does lack updates from the developer. Not that it needs them too often (maybe once a season) but it still has Demon Drop listed at Cedar Point. I've sent e-mail after e-mail to the developer telling him to remove it, but its there, with a wait time. So you simply mark it as ride down.
The way it works, when you open the app, and say you're the first person to use it at the park that day, it will list all rides with that the developer saw fit as average times. For example, Maverick will have a 45 minute wait and Mine Ride will have a 10 minute wait. Until a ride is updated the word "estimated" remains under the wait time. Once its updated by a user, it will have the length of time since last updated underneath it.
I usually update what I can whether I ride it or not. So if I walk by Wildcat and see a 15 minute wait, I mark it as such.
I've used it while at the park. But, not a lot of other people are yet. It might be a while before something like this is very useful. But, for the occasional visitor, even the "average times" might be useful information. The app is laid out pretty well. I quite often find myself in a position where the gps satellites can't find me and it won't let me update the times. That's a bit frustrating. But, otherwise, I like it. I found it to be pretty accurate when I was at Disneyland in April.

Not about the Droid app but a question about phones. While walking through the Soak City entrance to the park, there was a sign that said to text a number for updates on that day. Has anyone tried it? Does anyone know what they send you?

I tried it last weekend. You get 6 texts over the course of the day, one was a discount on jet skis, another was a discount on a souvenir bottle, one was to tell you they have shot glasses and cups buy one get one free at Pagoda, one was about All Wheels, and don't remember what the rest were. If you're a regular, it's pretty much a waste of time. If you are a once a year visitor, it might come in handy.
Its essentially an advertisement that you get all day. I tried it out and while it was informative about deals, I saw signs for the same deals in Pagoda.
I want information that I can use. For example, a text that show is about to start would be helpful.
