Driving Route Opinions Please! I-77 to CP

Gettin' ready to make the long but worth it drive Charlotte, NC to Sandusky.

Route is I-77: The question is, which is faster or better or otherwise right choice:

I-77 to Strasburg then Rt 250 northwest to Coaster Point

or

I-77 all the way to the Ohio Turnpike then hang a left.

Thanks in advance!

I have driven the Northern section of Rt 250 from Sandusky to Rt 77 and it's not enjoyable.

Take 77 up to the turnpike. Turnpike to exit 145 for Rt 2. Take Rt 2 to Rt 6 and that'll run you right into the causeway.

Ride on, MrScott!

Loopy's suggestion is probably best, though the Chausee would be a little more scenic (but a little harder to find, since I don't think it is marked).

Specifically, at exit 145, take the Road (Ohio 57 I believe) North until you get to Rt. 2 and I-90 (very short distance). Turn left onto 2/90 West, and stay on 2 until Rye Beach Road or Rt. 250, and follow the signs (unless you want to take the Chaussee).

The Chausee is marked. Where the roadside sign says go straight for Cedar Point, turn right instead. It's easy. :)

77North to Turnpike 80W to 250 is by far the best way to go.

As long as you're aware that the construction through Akron absolutely SUCKS. Depending on the time of day that you'll be hitting Canton/Akron, there could be big back-ups.

I would never recommend 250 to an out of towner. That road is a nightmare.
