Driving question

I'm making a trip from Charlotte (near Carowinds) to Kings Island (a longer trip than from where I live in SC) next Tuesday and wanted ask about the route I should take. Mapquest takes me up through W. Virginia into Gallia County, OH, and takes me across Ohio on Rt. 35 over near Kings Island. Does anyone know anything about this road? Would it be better to adjust my route slightly more out of the way in NC so I use mostly interstate, or is Rt. 35 pretty fast?

Then, I'm going to CP from Kings Island (love that Maxx Pass lol). Would you suggest taking I-75 to I-90 all the way over to Sandusky, or taking I-71 through Columbus up to 250, then to Sandusky? Comments would be appreciated, thanks!

Also, if anyone has anything to say about US-52, OH-104, OH-73, or OH-32, which are other possibilities, please add.

So many views, so little replies... oh well, if nobody has a clue...

I can tell you that Rt. 35 from Jackson, Ohio to I-71 is pretty nice. Drives like an interstate. I'm not familiar with Rt. 35 south of Jackson. Avoid OH-32. It's a pretty nice road but it's longer and takes you out of the way.

From KI to CP, I'd take the I-71 route. But maybe get off a couple exits before 250 and make your way to it some other way. You'll avoid some hassle in through Ashland, Ohio.

Hopefully that makes sense and is at least some help!

If you take the I-71 route, you could hit 23 out of Columbus, then take Route 4 up to Sandusky.

If you take the I-75 route, then take 6 up to Sandusky, and skip the turnpike.

Thanks, I also posted my question on tripadvisor.com, and a person who was raised in Sandusky and now lives in Cincinnati said to take 35 to Chillicothe, then 50 all the way to I-275. Since 2 people have said to avoid 32, I guess I will. I think I will take I-75 to Rt. 6 to get to CP. Thanks for the advice!
