The road around the Point is open, with the occasional rerouting through the park for those that have to get around perimeter road when construction has it closed. However, you would have to stop at the main gate as well as the security gate next to Bay Harbor in order to get to Perimeter Road itself. Good Luck!
They won't let you in. Stat away. Very, very far away. Every gate on the peninsula is open, so once you're past the toll booths, you could theoretically go anywhere.

I know this is kind of off the topic but why is the speed limit around Perimeter Road 23 miles per hour? My family decided that it was to draw your attention to it but is there any other answer for it?
Your family is correct. The only reason for the speed limit of 23 mph is to catch your attention (as stated by a PR rep in a Sandusky Register article last summer). Apparently, the speed issue is a problem on the road. I've never seen anyone (including CP Police) follow it.
Yea near Kennywood the speed limit is 8 mph or something like that. That must be another one of those places where people don't follow the speed limit.

If you want to get into Cedar Point, I will tell you my little secret on how to do it. I am going to assume no responsibility if you are cought by the CP police!!!! Anyways all you have to do is go down the Chaussee, which is the alternate road to Cedar Point, I know some of you know where that is after sitting in traffic for hours on it!!! Anyways, there is no guard to the booth at that enterance. From there you can park up by the Space Sprial lot and enter though the unmaned employee gate next to Demon Drop. From there you are home free. As I have said before, just be careful!!
That's a really swell way to get arrested for trespassing. Please tell me no one out there is stupid enough to do that.
Stay home. Stay away until May 13.

All of the guards this time of year are either at the booths, or getting pastry somewhere. As long as you look NORMAL and not like you are doing something wrong then you can get away with it. I have been doing it fo years and to this day have never been cought
You're completely missing the point... it's against the law. If you've trespassed in the past then you're an idiot who got lucky by not getting "cought."
On our visit there, everyone was either in some kind of uniform or wearing a tie. We were followed around Permieter Rd. until we parked in front of the marketing office. I can assure you that with this project in the works, they are going to be extremely careful about who sees what.
Stay home.

I have to agree with Jeff, that is very, very stupid. As obsessed as I am with that place I would never do something that stupid. The best advice that I can give someone is go down to Battery Park next to Damon's. Then walk over to the gate that is opened by the marina. The gate is always open to people who want to walk their pets down there or go fishing. I have been going down there for the last year now. If you have a good pair of binoculars or a good zoom lens on your camera you would be surprised how much you can see! In my next update to my webpage I will post pictures from there and you can see what I mean.

Yea I think I agree with Bryan. As much as I like MF I would rather stay away then spend time in the slammer! :)

No, but you can drive up to the first set of toll booths on the causeway. Keep in mind that Cedar Point does read this.

How about a legit way to get close and have a nice evening. I assume the Bay Harbor Inn is still open (it should be). Go blow some bucks on a nice dinner. Just get there before dark and you can stare at everything from the marina parkling lot. The place looks kind of erie (clever uh?) in the cold winter. If it is windy make sure you notice the Space Spiral blowing back and forth.
I'll second the Bay Harbor Inn suggestion. We always go during the holidays, it's a really nice evening. The restaurant usually has some nice Christmas decorations out and looks festive. The best part this year is that the marina is very close to MF, that’s where the web cam is located. For those of you not wanting to shell out for a full dinner, just go to the bar at the Bay Harbor and have a beer. Same view of MF, less money.
I know that in January they will be closed for some remodeling.

MF2000...As a seasonal officer with the Cedar Point Police Department, I can assure you that sneaking into the park is a VERY bad idea. The full-time staff of CPPD has been sent a copy of your posts.
If you need any information regarding the charge of CRIMINAL TRESPASS, let me know.....i'll send you a copy of the Ohio Revised Code section that deals with that offense. I can also get you a copy of the court schedule for Sandusky Municipal Court.
Have a nice day!
See? Did you think I was kidding?

Ha!
I love that a CPPD guy just told MF2000 he's an idiot. There was some great "comedic iambic pentameter" (if you will) in those posts.
