Dragster Update

Mechanics are furiously working on the all new Dragster to try to get it up and running by July 4th 2003, but as park officials have said there are no guarantees that the ride will be up and running!

If Dragster is up and running this weekend, it won't take long to break down again. I give it a very short life span. This ride is looking more and more like Vertigo. Soon the ride will be sitting in an employee parking lot near you!

Cedar Point has a real dud on their hands this year, all their wasted money on marketing something that is broken, all the merchandise that is not selling because people can't ride the all new ride, and the broken hearts of adults and children who came to ride the new ride, only to find the Dragster Speedway along the Corkscrew Midway to be a parking lot for some pretty shiney new cars.

Every single person here must admit the truth, me included, Cedar Point and Intamin have a real mess on there hands! Everyone from stockholders to regular park patrons should be very disappointed with Cedar Point's upper management! Even Dick Kinzel................

Does anyone know what Cedar Point plans on doing with the slick tires that fell off of Dragster that barely missed park patrons???? Maybe Cedar Point should disclose that in their portfolio analysis! Maybe not!

Face it everyone, Cedar Point Screwed Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is coming from a true fan of Cedar Point, it is up to us the enthusiast to demand better from them, if we don't then the park will truly turn into another Six Flags!

"Cedar Point, it'll move you, it'll move you, get to the point!" Except Dragster that is, that is the 120mph parking lot!

Even assuming you're correct that Dragster will never be up again, which you're not, why is it Cedar Point's fault? If I went out and bought a Camero and the enging blew apart on the way home would it be my fault? Nope. It'd be GM's fault. So Intamin would be the one to blame if anyone, but I'm sure CP's contract covers situations such as this. Look. They're trying to fix a hydraulic problem. They may have to completely rebuild the launch mechanism but they will do it. It just takes time for something like that. So give them their time.

And even if you were a true CP fan then you would at least understand that they are not at fault for this.. they are doing all in their power to make it right.. Intamin built the thing. not CP.

------------------
TTD=7. MF=80. Raptor 100+ Magnum. 250+ lost count.

And Cedar Point paid Intamin to build it! There lies the reason why Cedar Point is responsible. If I pay someone to shoot someone else, not only is the person who did the shooting responsible, but the person who paid the other person has the ultimate responsibility!

It is called deductive logic my friends!!!!!

Yes, but this isn't the same situation. This is a product from a company with a good track record that should work, except for a faulty hydraulic system. That will be fixed, probably at the manufacturer's expense (although CP hasn't released their contract details, this is likely). Haven't you ever bought something that broke under warrenty and you had to return it? Same principle. Intamin simply sold them a defective produce, and they're working around the clock to fix it for them.

Just Coasting, what is your industry experience? How many roller coasters have you designed and built? How many years have you been operating amusement parks? Are you still in junior high school?

Um..... isn't 120mph a little fast for a parking lot?

Does anyone know what the comment about tires falling off and barely missing patrons is all about?

One of the race slicks came off of, I think it was the blue train, on the break run. And went rolling.

Arms down.....Arms down.....Arms down.......Arms down.....Arms down....Arms down...(you think they would get it the first time?!)
yeah, i thought the tires were just showing wear and might fall off, i was wondering that myself. how could tires moving 120 mph not hit someone?

... as long as you don't act like you are.

Note: I'm not hatin' on the kids. There are many younger people here who contribute nicely. As long as you don't act your age ;)
