Dorney Park's Skyride

Does anyone know what is going to happen to Dorney Park's old Skyride?  It's prolably been brought up before but, when I was at the Point last season, I was riding the CP&LE Railroad and I saw the pieces of the Dorney Skyride sitting in a storage area.  Dorney is my home park, and I miss all the rides that have been removed since Cedar Fair bought the park(Skyride was dismanteled after the 98' season).  I really hope Dorney's skyride operates again, especially at CP, since I get up there every summer. After all, why would Cedar Fair ship it all the way out to CP if they weren't planning on doing anything with it?
I saw those peices also. I think they might be parts of the Old Frontier lift between the skyride and the Restrooms by the Mine Ride with the clock. Although I would not be suprise if it was. I did see a Dorney park Trash Can and a Dorney Pepsi machine in some CP employee areas.

It's not the Frontier Lift, it is Dorney's Skyride. They were the sky blue, open cars the ones where your feet hang out, not the enclosed ones like the Frontier Lift and CP's Midway Skyride.

I'll have to look closer this season, then ;)

Rumor is that CP was going to install the Dorney sky ride at Camp Snoopy, but then they cancelled the project.

Yeah, it's Dorney's old sky ride...would that have been the first time Cedar Point would have installed a hand-me-down, besides the train engines and carousels?

I thought GEMINI was a Hand-Me-Down from Vally Fair?

No lol, Valleyfair never had Gemini.  We've got Excalibur which has similar components (wooden structure, steel track, similar trains) but a completely different layout.

Gemini has always been a Pointer coaster.

Gemini was built at CP in 1978 as the worlds' tallest coaster.

The story I heard about Gemini was that it was originally designed for a brand new park that CP (before they became Cedar Fair) was going to build. That project fell through, so the ride was built at Cedar Point instead.

I've got the CP Flyer from 1977 posted on my website that shows the "new coaster for 1978" (gemini) if anyone is interested.  www.webtechnik.com/ebony  under "Coaster Page"
