50 Million in CF impovements? So start subracting what the others are getting and you've got the price of #16.

50 million, not bad eh? If only I had that kind of money to go roller coaster shopping......

The new impulse at Valley Fair, waterslides at Dorney, and the things we don't know about yet at MiA. That doesn't include other improvements in all of the parks (paint, general fixing up, etc.)

That's an awful lot to add up.

MA is getting improvements. Maybe not a coaster, but improvements is more than coasters. I hear the train is being expanded this year. They are reconfiguring the entrance and adding parking toll booths as well. Even physical improvements (paint, food stalls, bathroom improvements and landscaping) all cost money.

I attempted a half-baked guesstimate on CBuzz and figured it wouldn't cost too much more than MF.

The same company that is building #16 is also retracking the mean streak and the blue streak. I bet that cost a couple million to do.

Ahahahahahahaha! Intamin is retracking Mean Streak? So what, the army of carpenters they have are taking the winter off to build decks at home?

Of course not--they're too busy tearing apart the work they just did on Blue Streak last year so Intamin can re-retrack!

Yea, makes perfect sense doesn't it Playa? Submitting to Screamscape would probably cause quite the inter-website war ;) Go for it ...

I wasn't trying to put Lance down at all...I'm just sure that he gets 'top secret' email of the same high caliber and lots of it.

No, actually, coaster runner is right...the company that is building #16 may be, as they have in the past, doing work on the wood coasters. Jeff, on the other hand, jumped to the wrong conclusion. It's not Intamin re-tracking the Cedar Point wood coasters, but rather Martin & Vleminckx, the Canadian team serving as the general installation contractor for #16. They're well known for their wood coaster trackwork, beginning with the reinstallation of the Great Escape Comet. They also did the first re-tracking on Mean Streak.

All I know is that if they could make Mean Streak run the way that Blue Streak ran this year, Cedar Point ought to be willing to hire them for just about anything... :)

What I wouldn't give to have Mean Streak back to what she once was. At one time, I liked Mean Streak more than Magnum.
