Don't know if you've thought of this...

I can't speak with the jargon others know but some of the "twists" suggest to me that the train, if you will, might be short rather than a long, several-car train. I'm just trying to picture a 7 car train going over/through some of those elements already in place and I'm just not seeing it.

I thought about the storage track idea as well, but it looks like the footers down there line up with the ones that are heading off towards the (ex-)swan boat pond. There is something fishy about that track because there are extra footers alongside it; also just to the right of that section is the area where the ride is sitting on large concrete blocks.

I don't know how wide the space is between the uprights, but it looks pretty narrow to me...perhaps on the order of 6'.

I suppose another possibility is that the track will be banked at a high angle going through the lower level...

Where are the wood coasters where you can't tag supports and/or railings?

Dave - I think that width is FAR greater than six feet. The track itself is something like four feet (tall at least). I think because of the lack of something to scale from, things appear much smaller than they really are in pictures.

Check out the pics with guys standing next to all those footings in the area you're talking about. Those footings are HUGE, so the width has got to be as well.

Whoa, hello Jeff!

Dave I like the idea of a high bank through the track.

I believe this is where Dave is referring to.

I'll have to agree with him here, something is fishy about those lower supports.

halltd, if you look at the footers and see how close they are to eachother, that kind of puts it into relation a little better.

There's a better look at it. Again, look at the footers and see how close they are, then picture track on top of that and a train above that. That doesn't leave much room to spare in my eyes.

Ride on, MrScott!

I was peering at that very section the other day and there's more room than there looks in the photos.

I didn't see the R the first time I read through that. Nearly sent my lunch all over the screen from near laughter.

OK, I'll concede. I'll have to wait 'til this weekend to judge for myself.

Damn work and bills and life....damn.

and we all know that Intamin and airtime don't mix well.

Except for that one little coaster called Millennium Force.

I was talking about coasters with airtime.

Have you ridden Millennium Force? You get quite a bit of air when crossing to and from the island and on the last little hill. Is it mind-blowing airtime? Not really, but to say that Intamin and airtime don't mix well is a pretty brash statement.

Also, it's achieved in a different way, but there's this sweet yellow coaster that has some pretty wicked twists and has GREAT airtime. I think Intamin made that one too ;)

I'm also going to guess that you haven't ridden many Intamins (maybe 6 tops) so I wouldn't think you'd be in a great position to make claims like that.
