We were there Friday night for the haunted houses and had a blast! We put on our rain gear and headed to all the main haunted houses. They ended up putting more actors in the haunts because they were not outside at all. The attendance was down and we got right in all of the haunts with no wait. Now we are lucky because we have season passes and live, work here in Sandusky. So we took the grand kids on Saturday night it was really crowed so we just did the kiddie thing. They had fun too.

I was there too. I got lucky to be the last train on the Maverick before it closed. After that we stayed in the Red Garter Saloon when it started to rain. The Rain stopped and rode the WT, MaXair, Raptor, and the Gatekeeper. We were fine with the drizzle on the rides.
If I lived closer I would have chanced the rain but the radar and the webcam looked horrible and I didn't want to drive for an hour and find everything but the indoor haunts closed for the evening.
I was there last Friday & I got 40 rides on Gatekeeper during the light rain. When there is anykind of rain in the park that s your best time to get some runs in on your favorite ride or hit all the ride since during that time is usually a walk on or a very short line. The park was like a ghost town since there was not hardly anybody there.
The single best night I have ever had at Cedar Point was a similar situation. It was a Friday night in October about 6 years ago and the forecast was for non-stop rain. My wife and I arrived at our hotel, and reluctantly decided to at least give it a try, as we were originally only going to go on Saturday after a restful night in the hotel. We had heard that Fridays are typically quiet due to H.S. football, etc., anyway; turns out that was true. Factor in the forecast, and you have a recipe for a pretty slim crowd.
It rained for the first hour or so, and we braved it out in the Last Chance Saloon only to see the rain let-up and the fog roll in.
For starters, the park was nearly a (pun intended) ghost-town. To top it off, the rain had come along a cold front and a thick layer of fog enveloped the entire park. The cherry on top was the fact that there was zero wind, so we were treated to a fully-functional, dead, natural-fog filled warm night during Halloweekends in all its glory.
The natural foggy atmosphere combined with the creepy ambiance made the Halloweekends decor phenomenal, and I don't think I've ever enjoyed a night at the park quite like that in over 30 years.
So, no. Don't hesitate to go if it rains. You just never know. :)
Promoter of fog.
Friday night was great! The outdoor haunts were closed, and it rained most of the night. That said, it was probably my best night I had at Cedar Point ever. Everything was a walk on, and they were letting you cut through the gate and get right back on MF. I ended up with 5 rides on MF, at least 20 on GK, 4 on Raptor, 3 on Maverick, and more on the others. I was also surprised to see most of the rides running (minus TTD, Maggie, and a few others) in moderate rain.
Honestly, I was there the entire weekend, but got everything I wanted to get done by the end of Friday night. The icing on the cake was meeting up with Ben Holcomb (bholcomb), who raced from the Detroit airport to Cedar Point to get there 15 minutes before closing. In that time he still managed to get 4 rides in on GateKeeper. Best night ever!
Once the initial downpour stopped all the rides opened back up. It was just light drizzling/sprinkling for the rest of the evening. Even better, the temperature never got too cool. You could hear a pin drop in the park on friday! All rides were walks ons. We even walked right on to the front seat on Millennium Force 3 times. I would definitely recommend taking a risk at Cedar Point during inclement weather unless theres a combinations of high winds and rain.
