Does it seem... er... rougher?

I was there last thursday and I noticed it seemed to be more rougher than it did last year. I mean, its still fun, it just seems to jerk you around more than it did last year. has anyone else noticed this or just me?

Also... I hate the new seatbelt location, it rubs against your arm while youre riding.

i came off the ride disoriented and never wanting to ride it again. this was my first time riding it so i dont know what it was like previous to this year.

as a sidenote, i liked superman at 6 flags woa.

What the heck are you people talking about a new seatbelt location for? NOTHING about the seats have changed. New padding on the floor and the seat in front of you, that's it! And it's not brand new, so it will be a bit rougher, nothing that noticeable to someone that has ridden it more than he'd like to admit.

Awwwww man, I think I got dain bramage!

Still smooooooth as silk.
Just a little vibration on the pull-ups but other then that it's still smooth.
You want rough? Try Superman at WOA. The actual track isn't rough, but the initial forward launch is pretty jerky. It seems as if the magnets aren't firing at the perfect time and need a tune up or need to be re-timed. Twister seems smooth to me, especially after riding Superman. And speaking of the padding on the seat in front of you, whats the deal with that?

It's so you don't disturb the person in front of you when your tap-dancing on their seat on the way up and down the back spike.

'Welcome to Alaska!'

"Alaska?? Nobody said we were going to Alaska!!"

The seats were changed when I was there in 2002. When I was there though, I never got to ride it due to the maintainance. I am not sure of the exact modifications they made to the ride, although the performance should not have been affected.
I thought the only time it was rough was on the last time it shot you up the back spike. It sort of jerked me around a little too much. Then again, I sat in the second to back seat. Although, I did sit in the last seat last year and dont remember this, but it's probably because they're running it faster now.

What IS the air-speed velocity of an African swallow?

Though I ride this ride more than one should in one life time per day, I have not noticed any big difference in how smooth or rough it runs. It still runs the same to me, the belts seem to be the same last year also, just hang on to the harnesses and the belts shouldn't be able to reach you all the way up there if they bother you.

The big improvement from last year is the padding, cause I was so excited when I got off last year that I jumped off and got that tingling feeling in my joint. But now it feels good to get your landing absorbed into the pad, it also looks alot nicer, more color.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

Ehh, You people are weak. The ride is incredible...Just one of the things i love about WT are the laterals on the twists, Adds more thrills to the ride. Its not the roughness that gets painful, its the type of "roughness" that makes the ride more exciting. I dont think you can even call it roughness. Just some good lateral forces. I personally love the laterls on the twist. I'm usually picky and i dont like rough rides...But WT is not rough i can tell you that. I enjoy that ride so much, Last year it wasnt as intense as it is this year...It feels really smooth. Only thing that changed is it started making noises on the pullouts.

Crow: Mike can I have a car like that?
Mike: You can't drive.
Crow: I can drive, I'm an excellent driver; I'm not wearing my underwear.

Mean Streak 2003

Maybe you just rode it at a bad time. It could have had a bad wheel or something. Everytime I've rode it this season it has been as smooth as I've always remembered it.

"Population - Tire"

I havent noticed anything different.

Hmmm.....

Over 20 rides so far this year. Last year 34 total. The only difference that I see is the speed - back to the original speed of opening day last year (or pretty close to it). It was definately rockin' on Tues. 7/8!

We didn't get to ride Superman *tear* but the padding on the back of the seats are for those that can't correctly lift themselves out of the seat and push their butts out of the seat and end up smashing their head into the seat in front of them... safety first at CP, yo!

I do hate the new belts!!
I went to CP on 7/25 and in the morning it was pretty rough but they seemed to fix it. ( Good job CP!!)
It's because it's getting closer to being full power. It's really kicking up that back spike the second time, a little more than it was at the end of last season.

When I first rode it at the beginning of last year (before they slowed it down), the spikes, if you loosen up, can be a bit rough at the base, because your spinning at a pretty fast speed. When they slowed it down, you didn't get this, because it wasn't going as fast. I rode again yesterday, and it was going with the same old power again in the second run of the back spike, and felt just like it did lat year before the slow down. IMHO it's better that way, more intense.
