Does it feel like 310ft.?

I have been to CP twice this year and have noticed something about MF. First of all, I want to say that I think it is the most incredible ride I have been on. Second, when you look at it from certain angles, it truly looks like it is 310 ft. tall. But for some strange reason, when I am at the top of the hill, I don't feel like I am 310ft. in the air. In fact, it doesn't feel that much higher than Magnum (even though I KNOW IT IS).

I bring this up because when Magnum was new, it was 75 feet taller than Gemini and it felt like it. MF doesn't feel 100ft. taller than Magnum. Just an observation. Anyone else feel the same?
I am sorry but alow me to scream. AHHHHHH! I wonder am I the only one that think Millennium Force looks a lot more taller than Magnum when I am close to it or far away. When I am up on Magnum, it does look that tall at all. But when I see it from a distance (because I see the small sorrounding objects) it looks taller. But to me, Millennium Force looks a lot taller. When I am on the ride, Most def. it looks a lot more taller than Magnum.

I honestly think it feels 105 feet taller, because when you look at the rest of the park when you are up there, you can tell
I actually had the reverse experience. When I first saw MF in person it seemed high but it did not seem as high or as massive as I thought it would. However, when I rode it the first time its height definately hit me. It seemed so high I hesitated putting my hands up. I think the reason it may not seem that high when riding for some people is because you climb the lift hill so quickly. You really dont have much of a chance to get a perspective on how high you are. I think the Magnum seemed high because the climb on the lift was so much slower. Just my opinion.
The reason it doesn't feel 310 feet is because on Magnum you have about a minute to realize how far up your going. On MF you don't have time to react.

I think that the reason mf dont feel 310ft tall is because it has already sunk 105ft into the ground you know that the ground on the peninsula varies each year next year it may be 5ft shorter than the magnum :)
It looks 105 ft. taller, is feels 105 ft. taller, the drop is 105 ft. taller (actually 105.2 ft taller), and IT IS 105 FT. TALLER!!!!

Hell Yeah it feels like 310 ft. I went to CP twice this year and rode it twice, the first time I did not know what to expect. When you get to the top u don't really have time to even think about the height. But the Second time, I payed attention to detail. I also got lucky and rode in the front seat. It feels ALOT taller than the MAGNUM XL 200 and POWERTOWER

It feels like 300 feet, the drop doesn't though just because of how steep it is. I mean you fall for about a second before you start curving to the ground. It just seems like this to me because I'm so used to Magnum. I like the way you actually feel like you are falling out of your seat when you fall though-especially if your lapbar isn't exactly down all the way :) That is what makes MF different and special to me-definately differs from Magnum. Good thing CP did that or else it'd just feel exactly like Magnum but higher.
Consider this, you're already so high up that 105 feet may not really seem that much higher to you while riding.

I am wondering if the speed of the lift is one reason that you don't feel that you are as high. On Magnum, it seems to take forever to get to the top. Maybe if MF had as slow of a lift as Magnum, your brain would be telling you "Man, this is really high." Of course, not that I would want MF's lift to go any slower!

Once you are going up, and you are parallel with the third hill to the right, and by the time you realize it, you know you are already as high as Magnum-because that other 23 feet would have been made up in your reaction time.
When I went up, me and my little cousin looked over. Since he got in first to the left and I got in second, sitting to the right. To calm my self down, I was just observing the park, while he was crying. You see, I wasn't REALLY THAT scared because I had already rode it 42 times before. So I looked to the right and I said what is that little woody over there, I never observed that. The blondie in front of us said "Oh, that's the MEAN STREAK" I SAID" THE MEAN STREAK!! WE'RE 'THAT' HIGH!!! Then after 42 laps, I had FINALLY begun to actually get scared. lol THE FIRST DROPPPED SEEMED LIKE IT TOOK FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! Did anyone's head get stuck on some parts of MF? 4 out of 43 times I rode MF, My head got stuck down. But I DIDN'T FEEL NOT ONE SINGLE BUMP!! Now as I observed on Magnum, which is not a scary ride, just so damned fun, when we're up, I only looked at the people in Soak City, and how small they were. For some reason, on Magnum, you get a better view of the park than MF. I always envisioned Magnum as SEEMING taller, knowing better though, but after I saw Mean Streak when riding MF, all that has changed.
Good points. I agree with a lot of you. I think it is because you climb so fast that you don't have a chance to look down and observe and panic. When I ride Magnum, I'm looking down for a long time, building up anxiety. On MF, it happens so fast. Oh, CP bound, I know MF is 105ft higher..that wasn't the question. I wasn't questioning a fact, just a feeling.
Yes, OnRidePic, I could feel my head being pushed down at the bottom of some hills at times - it seemed like this happened more in the back of the train. But I know what you mean - it's like I'd have trouble moving my head around for a second or two.

As far as how tall the 1st hill seemed - I only got brave enough to look around the last 2 out of 6 trips - before that, I would look at my knees or at the little "Intamin Giga-Rollercoaster" plate in the car, because I'm afraid of heights. My husband would tease me & try to get me to look, and I'd tell him to shut up. (It's a performance we always go through on every big coaster). It does seem high if you make the effort to get a point of reference quickly (like Magnum or Powertower). But if you don't remember to make an effort to do that, you really don't get a full feel for the height because you don't have time.

Mount up & let's ride!
net, I know that facts and feelings are different.;)
It's pretty obvious that if MF's lift hill was as slow as Magnum's, you 'would' feel higher. But at 310 feet....going that slow would bring down the capacity a significant amount. While on MF, I do miss the clicks and clacks that accompany Magnum, but at the same time...none of that really plays a great role when you're going down the best hill on any coaster.
