Does EVERY guest need a Platinum Pass for early entry?

DH's understanding (from who knows where!) is that a pass holder can take other people into the park with them before opening.

DH wants a pass for this year. He is a big coaster rider and goes a few times a year. The kids and I are NOT thrill seekers and only go once a year, so buying passes for all of us wouldn't be worth it. Will we be allowed in the gates early with him, or should we plan on picking up McDonald's breakfast and eating in the parking lot to kill time?

Every person who wants early entry must have a Platinum Pass. More accurately, they need Point Perks which is only available with a Platinum Pass purchased at Cedar Point.

I know that in the past, season passes from other parks were granted early entry as well, I'm not sure if that is going to continue with the new season passes or not.

I do believe only platinum pass holders and/or resort guests (people staying at breakers, sandcastle etc.) are the only ones that can get in for early entry.

"Rides scheduled for early entry during 2008 are Maverick, Raptor, Millennium Force, Iron Dragon, Skyhawk and Planet Snoopy."

I like that Iron Dragon is on there for early entry. It makes more than just the super-thrills available and gives more people a reason to come in (especially with Planet Snoopy being open for early entry).

NOTE: I did a search and didn't see a thread talking about the 2008 EE rides. If I missed it, you get one free smack on the back of the head on Opening Day.

Legal Disclaimer: Free smack can only be redeemed on Opening Day. Any attempt at a different time will result in buying me a beer.

Zone 2 will be rocking with all these rides opening so early. :)

Agreed, especially considering there's almost always a pretty decent line waiting for it to open in the morning.

If you are getting a Platinum Pass, it only makes sense to get a Cedar Point for the Point Perks. Since a platinum pass can be processed at any Cedar Fair property. My family got CP passes this year instead of Dorney becuase of that, Dorney is only 1 hour away. But our first park will be King's Dominion which opens in 58 days.

If it wasn't already mentioned, the Platinum Passes, regardless of which park it is gotten from, will get you the benifits of which ever park you attend on a given day.

So, in essence, you get the benefit program things from all parks? If so, nice!
