I found this video earlier today, was wondering if anyone here knew more about it. From what I can see, it looks like a Demon Drop (the one on PT) type ride got stuck, so they got a lift to get the people out, when the ride suddenly goes down and doesn't hit the brakes on the bottom.
Does anyone with a better knowledge of world amusement parks know more about this? Maybe a RideAccidents link or something.

The ride appears to be a tower shot type ride. In other words straight up and straight down. I'm not familiar with the manufacturer. I can say this. The ride was obviously down for whatever reason and it appears they were attempting some sort of evacuation, there appears to be the boom of a crane in the left side of the video near the end. The 2-man bucket truck (similiar to what electric cos. use) shown, looks like it was in the process of evacuating passengers. I would say the ride had been down for quite a while and they could not get the system cleared and working and decided on the evac. Something happened that either cleared the system and restarted the ride or someone lowered the ride manually, not taking into consideration what was taking place. The ride carriage then strikes the bucket truck tearing it all loose and you can see the results. Problems: Lock/out tag out and no safety harnesses being worn by the 2 men in the buckets.
