Does anyone have a copy of the MF spiel?

This was brought up back in October, but I am looking for a Mp3 or WAV file of the recorded MF spiel they play in the station.  Two people said they had it, but neither have responded to my e-mails.

Yeah, I'd like a copy too.  :)

2002 - Something in the daytime... hopefully

This is also something I've been trying to get my hands on.. I've recieved email from 3 different people who "had" it, only to find out they thought they had it, but had a bunk copy that was just the music, which anyone can find anywhere.

If anyone does have a legitimate copy, please share! ;)

Hopefully somebody will take a little pocket recorder to CP and get it on tape and put it on the net!  :)

I may be able to answer my own question.  Today I got the video "The Roller Coasters of Cedar Point".  They show POV videos for the coasters.  On MF, as you're going up the hill, they play the spiel you hear in the station, although it is slightly edited (they cut out the part where they say the world's first giga coaster, and the part that says the park won't be responsible for loss or damage).  There is also an occasional whosh sound that accompanies facts that are run accross the screen.  They also have the spiel they played in the exit station at the end of the ride for it's opening year.  As soon as I can get the audio off of the tape, (I don't know how long it will take me. I am waiting for my dad to buy software that allows you to import audio and video to the computer) I'll send it to anyone who wants it.

Bam!  I got the RCOCP Video for Christmas today too... it's an excellent tape...  ;)

It is a great tape.  I've watched it 4 times already today.  If you don't have it yet, I suggest getting it from CP's online store.

I have a couple questions about that video. What kind of info is in it? Which coasters do they show? Are they the same POV's that could be downloaded during the first MM? Can you buy it without buying it off the internet?

The info includes a brief history of CP's first coasters, and it includes a nice POV of Blue Streak in 1964.  They end up showing every coaster at least once, giving a brief description of the less popular ones.  There are short features on the Gemini, Magnum, MS, Raptor, Mantis, and MF.  They talk about the construction of MF, and then show POV's of Blue Streak, Mantis, Raptor, MS, Magnum, and MF.  I think it was in the gift shops toward the end of the sason last year, but right now I think it is only available over the internet.

The POV's are *NOT* the original stock footage that was available during Millennium Mania.

Blue Streak and Raptor's footage clearly show MF in the distance, and Mantis' footage includes the dreaded trim brake on the drop (and also shows MF, if memory serves me correctly...)

As Ralph said... they do a very brief intro with flashes of the coasters, then jump back in time to CP's first few coasters (Switchback, Leap the Dips...etc) but give no real detail or spend much time talking about them.  Jumping quickly up to speed, they discuss Blue Streak (and show the vintage POV footage) and touch on the highlights of the records most of the standing coasters have broken.  This includes time-lapse construction of both Raptor, and MF.  The MF construction segment also includes a brief shot of both the helicopter footage of the topping, and the final piece of track being laid.

Following this is straight up POV of (in order:) Blue Streak, Mantis, Raptor, Mean Streak, Magnum, and following with Millennium Force.  Each POV segment includes stats on the coaster that fly up on the screen of the designer, year built, track length, height, drop, and top speed.  Very good POV shots, except the camera used on Magnum is down low between the rails (very similar to the stock footage used for the MM downloads)

And yes, the Millennium Force POV includes t"Welcome to Millennium Force.  Sit up right, facing forward, and hold on tight... keeping your hands, arms, and legs inside the car at all times.  Thank you, and enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force" as you climb the lift hill.  As you approach the final brake run and pull into the station, you hear "Welcome back riders, how was your ride?  At this time, please unfasten your seatbelt.  When the train comes to a complete stop, lift up on your yellow restraint bar and exit carefully to your right down the exit ramp or stairs, and enjoy the rest of your day at America's Roller Coast, Cedar Point..." (fade to black - end of video)

It's worth mentioning that the POV's in this video run the full length of the track, from station to final brake run... they don't start out mid-lift hill like the Roller Coaster Thrills in 3D videos.  All-toll, the video runs 22 minutes, 34 seconds (per the back of the full-color coverbox)...

An excellent buy for any CP freak. :)  Hope this helped!

Great description Gravity! Couldn't have said it any better.  The video definitely helps those of us suffering from CP withdrawl.

Anyway, getting back to the topic of the MF spiel, I should have it by January 4. My friend said he can get the audio off of the tape in his broadcasting class after we go back to school, so I should have it by then for anyone who wants it.

Hey, I'd leave mine running continuously, if the piece of junk didn't crash constantly.

Very cool. I'll have to try to get my brother to use his credit card or something...or hopefully find a copy in the shops next summer.
Yeah I got the same video for Christmas, and it is really nice.  The old Blue Streak footage is cool, and the footage of MF's construction was never-before-seen and very nice.  They had shots of them pouring the footers, building the lift structure, topping off the track, and the time lapse of the lift.  The POVs are good, they are all shot in 2000.
