I rode them today (5-23) and they were riding way better at MIA than a CP, they was a lot more speed and better collisions.
They threw you around more , but that made the ride alot better.

Get with it or die in the process.....
Keep your expectations low. MI is NOT CP! They've only owned the park for a year or less!
But Shivering Timbers is a world class ride!
It is 1st as a woodie!

Like it was said before. Keep your expectations low. Cedar Fair hasn't owned the park long enough to make any improvements are far as rides are concerned except for paint jobs and refurbishing. However, it doesn't look like the hick park that it did a year ago. The landscaping is nice and looks like something Cedar Point would do. I think the biggest differnce is the new uniforms that look just like Cedar Point's except they are yellow, green and black as well as the GREAT landscaping job. Ripcord is awesome. There are many secret construction jobs going on in the field behind the park as well as a huge tree removal project near the old tracks (similar to what CP does with every new ride). If you want a clue as to what the park will look like in 5 years reference the Dorney Park website. I bet it will look just like it. Don't waste a trip to Muskegon this year. Wait until the next big dog is built. Then it might be worth the day there. Not to turn this into a MIA forum, but this topic seemed to head that way. And of course it is part of CFLP so it seems kind of relevant. Enough of that from me. Dodgem seems really popular and rightfully so. It's new home is awesome! The building housing it is a plaster/brick material. It has a new cage above the cars for MAXIMUM electrical power to all cars which explains the speed. New lights that a flouresent. It is a real high class installation job. Thanks to you from CP for letting us share this great ride! I know you will miss it. I would too.
Lol.... I've been going to MIA since before Shivering Timbers. We had a cabin just a mile or so from the park. So I know what to expect.
I think it is worth the day trip, esp. with the water park. Spend the morning with coasters, then around mid-day head over to the water park to cool off then back to the rides when it cools down.
ST isn't rated #2 for nothing.

RIDE IT OUT!
Ok just got back. Dodgems are nice. Running fast and have a nice home. I've got pictures if anyone wants them.
Corkscrew is Orange with Teal supports. Except that the corkscrew over the entrance is yellow.
Most of the new rides are open except Ripcord, which was in testing and Be Bop Blvd., which is still far from opening.
And Shivering Timbers is still running as nice as ever.
