dodge em being removed

Just wondering, the Dodgems the park is taking out, those are the ones with the antique-style looking cars, right?
Yes, this dodgem that has been removed is the one with the antique looking cars. I will miss them!

Troika and Chaos are NOT being removed. It was just a rumor started a while back. Cedar point also does not have any plans so far as what will take place of Dodgem 1, at least thats what they say.

Considering that I am on the Troika and Chaos crew, I think it is pretty obvious the rides aren't being removed!  All I was asking was if anybody knew if the two rides are being moved to a different spot in the park.  Jeez...

Hey guys, all I have to say about the removal of these Dodgems is think ahead to the future.  Everything happens for a reason.  And while there may be an obvious one (MIA needs one), there has to be a hidden one as well.  This is one of those things like the railroad being moved in 1999.  We didn't know at the time, but later it turned out that it was to accomodate MF.  Now I'm not saying that the removal of the Dodgems is to open up room for a big new ride over there, but it is always a possibility.  The sit-down restaurant is also looking good.

I don't care what type of restaurant we get, as long as it's not another 50's style place.

Seems like the only reason they're keeping number 2 is because they use it for halloweekends. Hmmm...slowly Cedar Point seems to be placing more and more importance on Halloweekends.  Must be very sucessful.
Maybe more of a family themed restaurant since it's by both Camp Snoopy and the Resorts gate?

What about a Camp Snoopy expansion and this could be a themed restaurant with the Peanuts characters?
No offense to you Net, please no, no,no.  I really am sick of Peanuts.  When I go to Disney, I expect to see Mickey and all his friends, that is understood.  When I go to CP, I want great rides and decent food.  If it would be Peanuts, which has already been themed thru-out the park, it would be another kid place like Macaroni's.

Peanuts was an especially painful theming choice - only a short step up from the Berenstein bears:

1.  Peanuts as a franchise only has a few years at most left now that Schulz has passed away.

2. The basic zeitgeist of the Peanuts world is not really that appealing to young kids and does not translate well into a theme park.

3. Peanuts' hayday was about 30 years ago and it does not resonate with today's kids the way it did back then.

4. The Peanuts characters look unkempt and rather frightening when turned into large costumed people.  They are certainly not charming or lovable like Disney characters (or even teletubbies, barney, etc.)

I hope that Cedar Fair management starts looking for an alternative kid theming in the near future.  IMO, the parks don't really need a licensed theme - just good rides, good food, good atmosphere - it worked for everyone I know "in the day"!
