Do You think Maverick will be shut down often with mechanical problems?
I'd say that I would be surprised if it didn't have at least a few problems because of the fact that TTD, Milliniuem, and WT all struggled in their first year but you never no.
^^ And becuase its already have a month delay.
Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27
Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini
Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-
Of course it will have a few problems...all new rides do. LSM's are a pretty proven technology though, so I don't think there will be too many problems with those.
Cedar Point rocks my socks.
How come it doesnt make the noise the the WT makes when it launches? Isnt it like the same launching system? or as TTD?

If you're talking about the launch in the tunnel, there's some piped in audio that is much louder than the ride so I doubt you'd hear anything else during the launch. Sounds very cool from the outside, can't wait to actually hear what it sounds like in the tunnel itself!!!

Where do you people come from?
Top Thrill Dragster = Hydraulic cable launch
Wicked Twister = Linear induction motor launches
Maverick = Linear synchronous motor launches
Three completely different types of propelling something.

You guys are funny. Besides the little track issue, there's nothing to say they're having any problems with the ride. It appears to be running beautifully.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Dragster had a rough year in '03.

TTD sucked in its opening year. Maverick runs pretty well it seems. I wouldn't expect too much downtime.
Dragster was basically a prototype when it was built. I realize Xcelerator was built first, but the sheer size of Dragster put them into a new arena for the technology. Nothing on Maverick is really out of the ordinary. So, I'm sure they have most, if not all, of the kinks worked out - besides that pesky g-force thing. :)
Although since I heard they replaced the LSMs in the tunnel with another hydraulic cable launch like Dragster's, you guys might be onto something.
Yeah, I heard that's why they shut the pond cam off at 6 when it says it'll be on until 8. They're actually converting the electrical shed into a hydraulic room to hold a hydraulic motor like Dragster's. Since, you know, they've proclaimed what a success Dragster has been.

Oh crap, it's late and I wasn't thinking. Maybe I could go back and edit my post or maybe I could be so savvy to double post, then go back and instead of deleting my second post just edit it to say some other pointless drivel.
