I have been to Cedar Point many, many times. There are rides that I'm willing to pass on since I've ridden them so often (CCMR, Wicked Twister, Gemini). But there are rides that are must-do rides each trip. Blue Streak. The train. Raptor.
And Magnum. Cresting the lift hill, on a warm summer night, under a star filled sky, as Lake Erie laps at the shore ... that is a moment of sheer perfection. And it's a damn fine ride for every inch of the track.
Also,I need to have chili cheese fries on each trip.
What? How could one ever pass on the Gemini? The Gemini is the best at night right before closing time (last ride of the night). Very very fast because of the super warmed up track.

Nope. Holding to my opinion. I've done Gemini many, many times (hell, I made a hook pull rug of the Gemini logo in high school). I can pass on Gemini.

My poor prom date sealed his position in the friend zone by not riding Magnum with me its first year during after prom. Yes, it's a great coaster and yes I still try to ride it each visit.
Its garbage just like corkscrew imo. I never ride either at the park. Im glad the park is finally getting a real airtime coaster thats long over due in the new meanstreak. Its one thing cp has been lacking for decades.
As noted, there are coasters I don't make a point of riding when I'm in the park, but I wouldn't describe any of the coasters as 'garbage'. Corkscrew is a classic.

My oldest (now 14) had a very HFA response after riding Corkscrew last summer for the first time. "That was demeaning."

the best sounding lift in the park
YES. Somehow the slow, clinking lift makes it scarier. Like, maybe it's just me, but I KNOW Millenium is taller, but the ride to the top is smooth and speedy. That slow, ominously clicking trip to the top on Magnum with nothing to do but look down, or up to see how much track is left to go before you crest, makes Magnum SEEM taller, at least, it does when you're on board.
...and I LIKE Corkscrew. The only complaint I've ever had with it is that new OTSRs would NOT go amiss, as I usually disembark with an earache. :C

Have you ridden an RMC yet? Quite frankly, if you can't handle Magnum's airtime, an RMC might not be for you. Stick with Millennium Force(less).

I'd be curious to know (even though I really don't know why I would) what Aj1 actually does like about this park.
Every post seems to be pissing on marketing strategy or iconic coasters or whatever else doesn't suit their sensibilities...
He's probably a GL fanboy who finds fault in CF and is still salty about the park closing almost a decade ago.
Na he's just a troll.
I love Magnum, overall I have about 150 rides on it and I think that's double if not more than any other coaster for me. When I was younger I would just do laps on it for hours. Sometimes 5-10 in a row, now I only manage a couple per trip and that is something I have to change. For whatever reason Gatekeeper has become my marathon ride, probably because it's location is closer to other fantastic rides.
Still Magnum's slow lift, along with stunning views at anytime of the day/night are great. In a way the lift is another ride itself. You can have a conversation and maybe even a cup of coffee before you hit the drop ;) Every year I have a mental debate with myself whether Maverick or Magnum is my favorite. In terms of intangibles Magnum always wins.

CF closed the park, so they are indeed at "fault" for the park closing.
[The discussion about financial viability is a different story altogether.]
