Do you enjoy Camp Snoopy?

I like this area and I also like that they put in a Tilt-a-Whirl back there. WE is a great little coaster and probably the best family coaster I have been on.
One question I have is this. Why wasn't the Lolli Swings themed to peanuts? When Dorney put their CS in 2000 the Lolli Swing was themed to baseball and has Charlie Brown pitching at the top.

I am certain that this is not the first Tilt-a-Whirl at Cedar Point. I believe that one was there until at least 1964 and I think it was where the Scrambler is now. I looked at old Cedar Point brocheres and literature that the Sandusky library has and on brochure had an aerial view of the park. That picture showed a ride that looked to me like a Tilt-a-Whirl in that spot. The Scrambler was ther but it was near where Burger Patio's patio is now. I am certain that the picutre was taken in 1964 because the Blue Streak was there but the Space Spiral was not.

I loveWE. I didnt get a chance to ride it last year. They put a Tilt - A - Whirl in there? I didnt know that. I love that ride.

I thought it was a good idea to put in a Tilt-a-whirl, although last summer when I was there, my friends and I went on it 3 times in a row without any problem, only one other kid was on the whole ride, so I don't know how it's doing popularity-wise.

Oh and yes, I realize disaster is spelled wrong in my name, too late to change it now, *sniff*

Do I enjoy Camp Snoopy? Why the hell would I? I can't ride anything there, and the music makes me feel like I'm in a nursery.

As a father of two, seven and four years old, I would have to say that Camp Snoopy is not all that it could be for kids. The rides are OK but the layout of the area is no good when you are with kids. There is not nearly enough shade and it is all cramped together. Altogether, it is a weak effort. Usually the kids don't want to stay there more than 20 minutes or so. The older one likes WE but otherwise...not so great.

Thanks for the contribution, Jes. So we'll put you in the "no" column?

Yea, sure. Sorry, it's just that I nearly spent my whole first season at Six Flags working in Boomtown, one of the kids areas of the park... ever since then, well, I feel like a war vet, cause any time someone mentions kids rides, I start freakin' out...

OH THE INSANITY!!!

Last year, my not-qutie-four year old *loved* camp snoopy, particularly the balloons, WE, lolli swings, and the Peanuts 500. The not-quite-two year old was ready for the rides in theory, but not in practice. In other words: he wanted to get on, but once on wanted to get off.

It fills a big space between kiddy kingdom and the rest of the park. My daughter will be a bit old for most kiddy kingdom rides next year, may not be ready for the bigger adult flats, but will be just fine with the camp snoopy offerings.

She has also been talking about going on frog hopper this year, which should be fun. :)

Camp Snoopy is a great area for families. The rides (for the most part) are designed so that kids can go on them alone and feel like a "big kid" but if they are scared then parents can ride with them. It makes the family experience much better. And the Tilt A Whirl was a very popular ride in camp snoopy, as far as numbers are concerned some days it had more riders than Woodstock Express.

I think CP did a good job landscaping. I'm sure in years to come the trees will fill in and make more shady areas.
