I was thinking of putting some of my Cedar Point buttons on my park bag, but I didn't want to set off the metal detectors because that's such a pain. Anybody know if that would happen? Thanks!
I don't understand how any park is not using Evolv, but you don't just buy those machines, you buy a service contract. Those things are a hundred times faster and you don't have to remove all of the things.

Yes. I assume because they're constantly updating the software based on data of it being used (their AI training model, if you will), that's why you're paying monthly.

I believe the park is using Evolv or a similar device. I'm not sure about the Marina gate, but the Front and Magnum gates have the walk through and the traditional scanners, however the resort gate does not.
Media day they just had what looked like a regular magnetometer at the resort gate in media day. I think they tested Evolv at KI a few years ago. Not sure if it stuck.

Whichever they use at the front gate, I walk through without any alarm. Whichever they use in Steel Vengeance my small belt buckle sets it off every time.
Last year, after I had a hip replacement and we were SO curious if I would set off the metal detector.
In line, thru the detector....NOTHING!
between the implant and a cane, I went right through. (-granted the cane is aluminum)
The entrance gates (both the front gate and resort/Magnum gate) now use Evolv during regular operations. No need to empty pockets.
Steel Vengenace and TT2 still use TSA style metal detection and detection wands. Opening Weekend had my belt set off the detector both times at Steel Vengeance, but never for TT2. Neither ride will let you ride with a pin or button on your shirt.
