Do Riders usually wear costumes during Halloweekends?

I know Halloweekends is still quite a few months away, but my friends and I are planning a trip to CP.
My question is: Do riders/customers/visitors wear costumes? If they do, is it common to see them in costumes?

I don't want us to go and spend a good lot on costumes, then go to the park and look dumb or get confused with CP employees.
As on now, we're going on a Saturday day and staying until closing.

Hi, welcome to Pointbuzz!

I really never see any people older than 10 in a costume. You will stand out, you will not get confused with a employee, and finally, you will look very dumb in a costume.

Aren't costumes banned in the park? I seem to recall an incident last season regarding this.

Costumes? No.

Facepaint, Facemasks? Yes.

Indeed, John.
From CP.com:

Costumes or disguises that conceal identity are prohibited.

Guests who have painted their entire face will not be allowed to enter the park. However, guests who have dyed their hair an unnatural color will be allowed to enter the park.

Though, from OnPoint!:

Please don’t wear costumes. Although you may look totally gnarly and rad, we’d prefer that we do the scaring!

Yeah, there's the other problem.

Some jack*** in a costume goes and scares someones little kids.

They think the jack*** is a screamster and go to park-ops and rip into whoever it is for telling screamsters to scare little kids on the midway.

That just sounds like a headache for all involved except the jack*** who goes on thinking that scaring little kids is cool.

FYI - bangbang, this isn't to imply that you are a jack***. Well, unless you like scaring little kids.

Yeah. So, it seems that while face painting is specifically prohibited, they merely discourage costume wearing (with the ability to boot you from the park). Dress up at your own risk, bangbang.

Thank you all so much.

I'm a little disappointed, but I'm sure I can find somewhere more appropriate to wear a costume. :)

Knoebels :)

Let me make a final suggestion, DON'T GO ON SATURDAY! Sundays during Halloweekends are the best days to go...Around 6, all of the lines for the major coasters are all walk ons! It is worth it if you just go on Sunday

And then you miss all the outdoor zones, not to mention the park closes before it even gets dark out.

hmm, that's funny, because I remember doing the outdoor stuff during all of my Sunday Halloweekend visits last year. Not to mention, I was clearly talking about rides and not Halloweekend attractions.

Like I said, the RIDES are walk ons! Besides, if they are walk ons, then it won't take you long to hit up some of the haunted attractions!

As a monster in one of the zones I can tell you we definitely see costumes there is usually a group or two a night. Nobody should really bother you unless (like the quoted text said) you have a mask on. full face paint and masks are a big no no, because you can get confused with monsters and then they can't determine who you are. Monsters and the police will stop you and tell you to take it off, included in this are the hoodies that zip up all the way into a hood/mask.

My recommendation is to go out for a Friday-Saturday weekend if you can swing it, which is what we've done for Halloweekends for the past several years. The resorts run some pretty decent package deals, and the crowds are usually pretty thin on Friday nights - so you get a ton of riding in then, which allows you to take a much more leisurely pace on Saturday to do some riding but also check out the all of the haunted houses, scare zones, and halloween shows that Halloweekends has to offer. GLFan is right - if it's just about riding and not about all the other HW stuff too, doing a Saturday-only trip out is probably going to be a frustrating experience.

Oh... and don't wear costumes. Go to a Halloween party for that.

Last year I saw a guy dressed up as Single Rider Bob. He had the whole outfit exactly replicated, and from a distance, I thought he was the genuine article.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

Now that's funny.

You must have a bad memory.

Yeah the only Sunday when they are open is Columbus Day Weekend.
