100% agree.
King Bed for 2 people - $86 @ LaQuinta vs $200-$300 on point
Two nights with 4 people (2 full beds) - $200 @ KOA vs $400-$500 on point.
Seriously, with free parking and early entry already on the platinum pass, coupled with the fact that I like to stop by McDs for breakfast anyways, there is just no way I can see myself staying in the park this year.
What's more is that staying at Kalahari (which looks to have much nicer rooms than CP) costs about the same as staying on-Point. And water park admission is included. We're doing that for one of our trips this June.

Man, you weren't kidding those rooms are nice. The King Whirlpool suite is exactly what I'm talking about. If I'm royally unimpressed with LaQuintas Jacuzzi/King combo for $96, maybe I'll give it a try, but we usually stay 2 nights, and at $279 a night, that's getting up there in a hurry.
There are two LaQuinta jacuzzi suites, so be careful. They have some "suites" that have a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, and then there are the larger suites that have an actual jacuzzi in the living area (plus a "private" balcony or patio). I think the latter room is only $10-20 more, but even just for the extra room, it's worth it in my eyes.
We're not going to make a habit out of staying at Kalahari. We're staying there on the last leg of our road trip/honeymoon for a couple nights. And really, compared to some other places we're staying, $279/night isn't too bad!

Great to know. Jacuzzi in the bathroom has nothing on a Jacuzzi in the actual living room.
Kyle you mentioned at the end of page one that you assumed the price of a room onPoint would be pushing $200 for the Friday night (14th). You can get a room in Breakers for $133 (-10% Platinum Pass) becomes $120. I know its an outdated room and not comparable to a jacuzzi suite, but I'm just pointing that out.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
