DJ Booth

I don't know about you, but if I heard Metallica, Ozzy, or Godsmack, I would be pretty pumped.

They have songs that don't cuss, so why don't they play them?

Because they appeal to a very small segment of the population.

But didn't it come from Kinzel's mouth that CP was targeting "the teenager to young adult group of people"? - So why don't they play the music that this age group likes?

i/e Rock and alternative - get those stupid boy bands outta here!
Unfortunately, what appeals to the general masses usually is lousy and overstocked with cheese. CP apparently pulls their playlists from what the top albums or songs are (this does not explain the horrifying reoccurance of "Love Shack"). Ozzy simply does not sell as many albums at a time as N-SYNC or Brittney, so the powers that be come to the conclusion that what sells is what everyone wants to hear in line. The next time you hear something that makes you want to vomit, take a look around at how many are mouthing the words and actually enjoying it. You are the minority. I'd like to hear Ozzy in line. I'd also like to hear The Allmans, The Dead, old Rolling Stones from the 70's, Floyd, Everclear, ect but I'm accepting that this will not happen and I will suffer through the morass of Velveeta while waiting in line.
I have noticed by observing my friends who love (c)rap and R&B actualy like rock. One song I have never heard them play, but they should, it has no bad words and alot of people like it. Kid Rock-Bawitdaba. I would realy like it if CP did play a little more Rock. While at CP I've noticed alot more people wearing shirt or hats with, Metallica, KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails, Creed and Blink-182 shirts. Me included, I'm like suffering over there standing in my AC/DC shirt with my NIN hat on. CP if you can read our cry's. PLAY MORE ROCK!

My own summer (shove it)-Deftones
nick and i requested SAFETY DANCE by men without hats. once during the day, and once at night. that dj is cool even though he could stay away from pop music. nick tested him one time. he asked if he had any j-master-deep(he made up a dumb rap name). the dj said, "I dont have any rap." i would much rather listen to pop than rap, or just throw them both out, but as long as he plays rock i'll be fine.

Are they really DJ's? He's Got Pre-made MiniDisc and just throws the same one in it hits play. The chance if them having a song you like is slim to none. Another thing, how come all the dj's are blue tags?
Now I'm willing to bet that at least 3/4ths of the people in line have heard Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne or (what might be the perfect roller coaster song) Learning to Fly by Pink Floyd.

Now I don't know about you guys, but I have noticed a definite trend in MF's line. There are hardly any kids. It is always nearly all (older) teens to adults in line. Now you can't tell me they like hearing those crummy, premafactured boy bands and Britney Spears. What is even worse is when they play slow love songs in line. They just need to play more rock-n-roll!!! (And I don't mean crap like Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit) Although it isn't my favorite type of music, I don't think anyone would have any problem if they would just play some classic rock in line...

Ryan (who is very opiniated when it comes to music...)
Remember, Britney Spears will turn 30, and the boy bands will start to age and not be able to sing as well. It's just a huge trend. It won't last very long. As for Destiny's Child, " Say my name say my name, when no one is around you say baby i Love you, if you ain't running games! hehe. I am very annoying. hehe.

Welcome back Raptor riders, how was your flight?
I use to like it. But everyone plays the song to death so I hate it now!
If you notice who mouths the words to Brittany Spears, the Back Door Boys, and N'stync, they are ALL girls.

Okay, we've played the girl songs to death. Now let's play some stuff for the guys! Korn, Metallica, Ozzy, Godsmack, Kid Rock - choose one or all, just as long as you get the boy bands outta here!
Hearing all the criticism here of what the DJ plays makes me happy
that I didn't get the job! Coming from someone who knows, pleasing
the masses as a DJ is a tough thing to do. It's especially difficult
when (like the CP DJs) you are limited in what you can play. Think of
it this way, at least this year they're playing RECENT, and popular
(to some!) music!

And to the comment from CP_genius... I'm a guy, and that's not all I
listen to! The DJ played Dave Matthews Band and 3 Doors Down when I
last visited, it wasn't all boy bands and "girl" music.

They should play These Boots Are Made For Walkin'
when they played blink 182, everyone started to go crazy. blink 182 happens to be my favorite band(i went to their concert in Cuya. Falls). everyone in the line was singing i think. of course if it was my way, i would play punk, heavy rock, and classic rock. i heard mostly all pop, and i think the girls were the only ones singing. when the started playing some rock, everyone started to sing. hint hint cp. yes eventhough we cant get everything perfect, although mf is pretty perfect except for the pop music garbage, we will still be boarding mf after it is all done.

*my theory*
cp tried to say that mf has 5 hour lines, then put that little circle up to scare people off. when those two attacks didnt keep the lines down, i think they started playing brittany spears and nstink to scare people away.

*disclaimer- i was only half serious about my theory

Here's an idea...

Without commenting on the type of music they play (that DJ booth was never in operation when I rode), what they really should do is keep track of how long the line is, and make certain that within the amount of time a person would be standing in that line, no song is repeated.

That shouldn't be too difficult, I wouldn't think...a 2-hour line...have 2 hours of music. It's only necessary to consider that portion of the queue which is within earshot of the speakers anyway.....but as a matter of policy, it would be more pleasant if you didn't hear the same three songs a dozen times while waiting in a single queue...

Yeah, I waited in line for MF 1:30. Half-way through, they started replaying songs. It's pretty sad when the music was on a 8-9 song loop.

Safety Dance... man I haven't heard that since our beloved "The End" disappeared from Cleveland radio, and "The Whiskey" disappeared from the flats.

Last season, I waited though a 40 minute Magnum breakdown, which seemed like 10 mins. It was at night, way past close, but we had already waited a good half hour, and the ride was closed because of a chain prob that was already fixed, but they needed to test. Anyway, the DJ kept us goin' good. He played some Pink Floyd, Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, YMCA (groan), and Goo Goo Dolls. Plus, between songs he actually told some half decednt jokes. Afterwards, I got my first and only night time ejector seat Magnum ride, which was great.
Two words come to my mind when I hear Blink 182(SELL OUTS)

Why is that a successful band has to be considered "sold out?"

Anyway, I remember them from a few years ago when they were called Green Day! ;)
