DJ?

I hope this hasn't been discussed yet but I was just wondering if TTD will have a DJ? I was shocked WT didn't. I sure hope they have one though; it would be really boring waiting in a 2 to 3 hour line without any music!
I bet there will be a DJ for TTD. I dont see why they wouldnt put one in. Or atleast speakers everywhere to just play some music. Doesnt have to be a DJ there.

WTC plan Approved. A structure that will stand 1,776 feet in the NYC skyline. It will be the tallest tower in the WORLD!!!

Speakers, some shade coverings, and some of those mist fans.......then you have a tollerable 2 to 3 hour wait!!
I'd say there is an 80% chance of a DJ.

And a 20% chance of rain :).

The only thing worse than people who make grammar mistakes are the people who have to point it out every ****ing time.

With as big a deal that this ride is, I think they'll throw in a DJ too. I guess they'll just have to interupt him with the squealing tire sound effects though.

Does that include the couches, TV's, and a free minibar in each queue?

I just hope they don't have the same guy on TTD that they had on MF this year. He played the same music each time I was there, and it was always boring MoTown crap...he wouldn't even take requests! Mix it up a bit...don't just stick to one genre.

Yeah well I had to listen to Big Tee's music everyday while in the queue. After about a week, you knew the play list by heart;) He was still a good DJ though!

TTD that would be a great IDEA! Maybe you should let CP know about you're great thoughts!!

I've visit Cedarpoint begin June 2000 for 2 day's.

There was no DJ in the que line of Millennium Force.

Maybe they are using DJ's in the weekends or high seison.

I haven't seen any DJ during my visit in 2000

Same here, RonnieD. I have season passes, but most of my trips are early or late in the season, rarely on a weekend, and I haven't seen a DJ in quite some time. So I believe the DJ's are specifically for high season or on crowded weekends.

I wonder if the DJ playlist is set by CP management?

And I LOVE the "boring Motown crap". Then again, I'm near 50 and grew up with it ;)

I'm positive that CP influences the playlists. Do you think that the heavy Motown bias in the playlists is an indication that CP believes that the majority of the crowd comes from the state up north, as has been discussed at great length recently in another topic?
It would be nice if they would play music videos while we wait in line (like when the Mantis first opened up).

The DJ for Millennium Force didn't start til mid June last season, they have a large playlist that is set by Live E managment that has what they should and can play. Each DJ can play what he wants from that list. It was talked about over here a little:)

I liked the fact that there were DJs on the queue lines. I thought it was a great idea...since last season was my first visit to Cedar Point. My home park (Which will remain nameless...someplace in South Jersey) doesn't have that.

With that said, what you need to realize is that the choice in music must be middle-of-the-road to try to please everyone...which is damn near impossible. This is why CP will have a set playlist. I have been a DJ for 15 years in the NY metropolitan area. When doing things like weddings and other affairs, it is very hard to please everyone. But, we do our best.

Also, these guys and girls are just like radio DJs..and from what I saw, everything is on mini-disc. So, they can't do actual beat-mixing. They can just go from song to song and talk every now and then.

I think it would be nice to have different genres of music at night on each of the queue lines...say...classic rock, dance, disco, etc. However, I would tend to stay away from Rap...especially the hardcore rap...too many vulgar lyrics and references...even the clean versions. Not appropriate for elder guests waiting in the queues. (This is just my opinion.)

Can't wait for CoasterMania!!!!!!

There is a difference between DJ's' choices of music. They do have a set playlist that they can play, but they don't play all those songs. The guy on MF played all MoTown while the guy on Raptor (the day I was there) played a majority of rock/alternative. I just wish that they would all mix it up so that they would play several genres in a row before repeating that genre.

While the DJ in our line would play a lot of motown, he would also play some rock as well. He would always play AC/DC, Metallica, and other current popular rock groups. When ever our DJ had a day off or was not available, Tom our other DJ would fill in and play a wider range of music from the play list.

Mmmmmm I don't remember what line I was in, but last summer, our faaaavorite DJ played that OTown (?) song "Nothing or All." (I think that is what it was called. hehe)

If I remember correctly what a friend who auditioned for a DJ position this year was told...

Cedar Point plans to fill 4 full-time DJ positions and 1 alternate. Draw your own conclusions from that.
