Discounts at the Resorts

Alright,

Lately I've been hearing so many good things about the Resort Hotels at Cedar Point that I thought, maybe we should stay a night or two at the Point, instead of blowing a huge amount and going to Disney for the second year in a row. My only tribulation is that, since we are really only an hour and a half away from the park, a couple hundred dollars for a room is kinda steep.

Is there any way to get discounted rooms at any of the ON POINT resorts?? Thanks a bunch!

If you don't have a season pass, you can generally save a couple of bucks by buying into one of CP's packages. They include hotel, tickets, and some extras that you may or may not use.

You don't say when you're going, but you can get package rates through June 25. The Breakers also features packages August 24-28 and Breakers Express (in some fashion), Camper Village and Lighthouse Point basically offer them year-round.

With the package, you get two nights, 2 one-day tickets, 2 Starlight tickets and $30 to use at any CP restaurant. You also get buy-on-get-one free coupons for Soak City and four tickets than can be used either for Challenge Park racing or Miniature golf.

Just figuring in the cost of the tickets and food vouchers, you're saving about 40 bucks over the cost of the items purchased separately.

The only thing other than CP that Steelers and Browns fans agree on

We live only two hours away from the park. However, staying on point still turns what was a "trip" into a "vacation", even if for only a few days. The convenience of having a room of your own within walking distance of the gates really adds to the experience. This is especially true for families with small children.
Only an hour from the park also, we get a room once in a while to make it more of a vacation.

Even if you go to a nice hotel near your home, it is still a change of scenery and a chance to get away.

Staying on the Point makes a simple trip seem more like an experience.
