Disastor Transport?

I was just wondering (and sorry if this was posted before, I don't really remember) what does the 12E stand for on the building of DT?

That is one of the Great Unanswered Questions. For a list of more, consult the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

One of my favorite explanations is that it is Dick Kinzel's shoe size, but that has never been verified.

Has anyone ever email Cedar Point and actually asked someone?

You are the Weakest Link, Goodbye.

The only logical explaination I've heard is the L is the 12th letter of the alphabet, so it says LE...Lake Erie....who knows...maybe they just thought that 12E sounded cool. ;)

I thought it meant something like 12 "years" E"xpansion" It did take them 12 years to expand over there from 1990-2002, but it's probably just a coincidence. I like being a conspiracy theorist though. :)

Evan, I love the title of your website. ;-) Sounds awfully familiar. JP

It's hard to argue with the L=12 Erie theory.

Out of the 15 coasters at CP, what number is DT? Becuase I was thinking that maybe the 12 was standing for the 12th coaster put in at Cedar Point. But yet again, the "E" is still there. When I go to Cedar Point, I am going to ask them what it stands for. I kind of agree with Brent...maybe they did think that it was just another accesory to the ride. They probably just thought 12E sounded good, so they put it up there. Now don't think I am crazy, because I have only been a CP freak for about a year now, but exactly who is Dick Kinzel? All I know is that he is important to the park.

I think its number 10. Mean Streak was #11, Raptor was #12, Mantis was #13, MF was #14, and WT is #15.

Are you talking DT as "Avalanche Run" or "Disaster Transport?"

This question was brought up at Coastermania's Q&A and I don't exactly remember the response. It was something like it was a special sign by the designers or engineers, I can't remember.

For those unfamilar, a picture of 12-E can be seen here, as well as other DT pictures.

Someone at the Q&A asked Dan Keller if it was Dick Kiensel's (sp?) shoe size. He said he didn't know, but he didn't think it was Dick's shoe size.

Forget asking what the 12E means... I want to know what's up with the ride in general! :) I rode last Monday, for the first time this year, and I came off with a headache when I tried to figure out what was going on. I knew we were in Alaska, but why was it nearly 100 degrees? And why was the Halloweekends theming still in there? Humm...

I'm in the school that believes 12E is just a random letter/number combination, and that it sounded good.

Of course, the Lake Erie theory is pretty damn good...

Ive also wondered that so i decided to e-mail cedarpoint. This is what they said.

"Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your interest in Cedar Point.

The 12E on the Disaster Transport is just decoration.

If you have any other questions about Cedar Point,
please call our Information Line at 419-627-2350.

Sandy"

So everyones speculation could still hold true.

My day is ruined! What a let down. Oh well, back to the subdivision cam...
Evan, I think what Anonymous ment was that "Guide that the Po!nt" also uses an exclamation point in their title, such as your "Get to the Po!nt" website.
