Directions to Cedar Point(Fastest Route) from Flin

I'm new to this board but I thought I could post here to get some info on driving directions. I am planning to go the week of june 16th. I've been to Cedar Point once but I did not drive and am not too fimiliar with Ohio. Ive seen directions though and my question really is if I could stay on 23 south all the way into Ohio and just take 80/90 or whatever it is east to Cedar Point instead of having to go on 75-south and using 1-96 east and going through Detroit.

Any help would be appreciated.

US-23 South into Ohio to I-475 East to I-75 North to I-280 south to Ohio Route 2. Take that to US-250 and follow the signs to Cedar Point.
How heavy is the construction on I-280? If I take the I-75 exit to the Route 2 exit, how much of a delay would I expect? I ran into a small amount of construction on US-23 near Ann Arbor and near the Ohio/Michigan border. Also, taking Route 2 will avoid the $2.20 tolls there and back. I would recommend taking US-23 to I-275 to I-75 to I-280, rather than crossing the Ohio border on US-23. Or is this a bad idea?

Egg nog... how'd they think that up?

I have been to CP a total of 5 times(twice for season pass processing for me and my GF) this year and it isn't bad, but you could get a little delay, also the drive on 280 to route 2 isn't that bad.

I went to CP a couple of weekends ago and 280 was completely closed. Is it open again?
it was open yesterday when my girl went down.

I went 5/14 (Wednesday) and 5/24 (Saturday) and both times traffic moved very well on US23 near the border... In fact, I don't think its really causing too many backups/problems for anyone. I also went for season pass processing back in April, and it moved well then as well. Saturday afternoons actually seem to be the most heavy times due to Cabelas in Dundee.

As for I-280.. During the week its open and it moves at the post speeds (35 and 45 MPH)... but they've been closing it every weekend.. So if you plan on going on the weekend, use the alternate route of 475 to 75 south to exit 201a. Take that to the Mackinac Bridge looking bridge that crosses the Maumee, then follow the signs for 2. You also may want to just go to mapquest and print out a Toledo map or two, too.

2 seems to run very well... Although.. has anyone figured out what that TRACTOR ACCIDENT INFO WANTED near the nuke plant is all about? Curiousity has gotten the best of me - I had to ask!
