DIRECTIONS FROM PKI

Coming out next week. What is the best way from PkI? Should I go on OH-250 or stay on the interstate?
The simplest thing that I can think of (not quite the quickest, though) would be to take I71 to the turnpike, then the turnpike west to 250. Then 250 to the park.

Cool - I didn't want to start an off topic thread, but I guess I'll stray this topic. What is the best way to go from CP to Worlds of Adventure? I plan on heading over for a few hours at least next week, and wasn't really sure what the best way is.. I would assume 2 to 71 to 480 or whatever it is, but if someoen else has a better route, let me know.
Going from PKI to CP, I71 and Rt.250 do intersect (I71 exit #186). However, you would have 60-65 miles of 2 lane roads on Rt.250 and all the little towns that you go through along the way. Looking at an Ohio map, taking I71 to 80/90 (Cleveland) is going too far out of the way (IMO).
The shortest route woudl be cutting over the 10 miles to I-75 and then north toSR 12 at Findlay which turns into 6 at Fremont and goes right to the dorms.

I-71 is WAY out of the way. A good hour farther.

You can always head all the way to Bowling Green as well and take 6 over.

No one realizes PKI is so close to I-75 but it's only about 10 miles.

Personaly I would take I-71 to I-275 to I-75 to SR-6 to SR-2. But thats the combined way that I go to PKI and CP (I live in the middle of the two, right on I-75) and it is mostly four lane roads (route 6 is 2 lane, but there isn't much traffic, and what traffic there is moves fast). It takes me 2 hours to go to both places, so I'm guessing that it will take about 4 hours.

Don't get on 2, stay on 6 all the way through downtown. You'll save 20 mins.

The trip shoudl be about 3 - 3 1/2 hours.

Dudes...i go to school in Cincinnati and I'm from Sandusky...I've gone all different ways and the shortest and quickest route is I-71N...get off at Exit #169 OH-13 North. That joins US-250 in Fitchville which will take you to Sandusky. That trip is 3 hours 15 minutes from Univ. of Cincinnati campus to my house. All of the other routes are at least 30 mins longer and stay off of I-75 at all costs.

Hey, I just said that I71 to the turnpike was the simple way... I told ya it wasn't the fastest.

I believe the quickest way from CP to WoA would be 250 to the Turnpike to exit 187 (I think 187?) then follow the signs.

Gee, if it were me, I'd take IR-71 North to OH-315 and take that through Columbus (completely avoiding the downtown IR-70/71 mess) and just stay on OH-315 to Powell Rd., turn Right on Powell, go up the hill to US-23, turn left, take US-23 North to OH-98 (Waldo), OH-98 North through Bucyrus 'till it joins OH-4, stay on OH-4 all the way into Sandusky, go around the park and out Monroe St. to First St. to the causeway.

Thanks a lot! I'm sure there'll be tolls. Oh well. :)

I really hope I am surprised at WoA.... But I don't have my hopes up too high. Basically I'm going to SFMM next month and wanted to just get a season pass and ride their flyer coaster.

try mapquest.com and ask, for the shortest path, but the last two times I went to Cedar Point this week, I-80 was congested during the day near I-75 & I-280 because of two way traffic which reduces each side to one lane. It's horrible.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

I agree with Seth. 71 to 13 to 250. It's quick.

I-71 N, "through" Columbus. I-275 W, to US 23 N. To SR 98 N. To SR 4 N. Watch for the Cedar Point signs when you get into Sandusky. No, there are not alot of stop lights on the 23/98/4 stretch. Just slow down to 50 going through the little towns along the way. You can do it in 3 hours, if you're not over zealous about it.

*EDIT* I did it in a loaded eighteen wheeler when I was driving truck for a living.

Don't take I-71N through Columbus unless you're in an 18-wheeler. Following IR-71 takes you through both of the IR-70/71 splits and right through downtown. Instead, when IR-71N splits off to the right, go straight through on OH-315, take that to IR-270 on the North side, take IR-270E one exit to US-23 North and then do as Dougster says.

PKI to Columbus is 85 minutes.
Columbus to Cedar Point is 135 minutes
Total drive time is about 3:40, on average, driving legally. And that includes an allowance for trains.
