Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum, and I was looking to get the opinions from some of you guys that have a platinum pass with the dining plan.
I'm looking into possibly upgrading my Platinum Pass to include the dining plan option. Has anyone used the dining plan last year? Is it worth the extra 100 bucks? Was there any issues in obtaining the meal?
Thanks everyone look forward to hearing your opinions.
Hello and welcome!
First off, I should note that for 2014, All-Season Dining Plans were only offered at each individual park. For 2015 Platinum Pass-holders, your $99 dining plan will grant you two meals a day at each and every Cedar Fair outdoor water and ride park. This means that you will be able to go to any park in the chain (other than Castaway Bay) and pay nothing for parking, admission, and dining. Awesome. I look forward to visiting more parks and not having to worry about paying for or finding food.
As for the variety of food, it's your typical amusement park fair. Things like burgers and fries, chicken sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, etc. Nothing too fancy but it works. Definitely enough food to hold you over for four hours (was two hours this year) before you're allowed your next meal. Keep in mind that the menu varies by park.
In previous seasons, we would leave the park to find food elsewhere due to the high in-park prices. This year, we are able to stay in the park to eat, saving time we would've spent in the car and allowing us to enjoy the atmosphere. We haven't had any issues getting a meal. On Sunday of opening weekend, they were unable to process the dining plans so they just went ahead and gave us the meal. Another time, the POS was down at Pink's so they just jotted down our pass numbers and sent us down the line. There are others on here who did run into some snags, though.
Bottom line: if you are going to visit one or more Cedar Fair parks on a regular basis, and like to eat the type of food included, it's a great deal.
I thought it was a good deal and more than worth the money. Enjoyed going to the park knowing I can get two meals without spending any extra money. I really enjoyed it when Midway Market was on the plan. I'm assuming it was removed because it wasn't cost effective to have it on the plan. I would suggest they do something similar to what they do with Fast Lane, have a dining plan and a dining plan plus that includes Midway Market at whatever price point they need to make it doable.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I agree that they should find a way to include Midway Market. Even if it had to be an up-charge per meal instead of a season long plan.
The last time we were at Disney World we had the dining plan and some of the signature restaurants required 2 meal credits to be redeemed per person. CP could do something like that for Midway Market where you could eat there under the dining plan, but it would use up both meal credits for the day.
Thanks for the info everyone! I going to do it and add the dining plan to my platinum pass for the 2015 season.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there was a slightly cheaper option for meals at only one park?

I believe you can add on either the only CP food plan for $81, or add the CF dining for $99, but if you buy it with your pass, it only comes with Cedar Fair.
